@JuroKral I just feel there is a ton of reliance on player development this year over already proven talent. Especially, with Bischel/Lundkvist. I would feel a bit more comfortable not having Lybushkin still being a top 4 dman.

@KyleBea96359130 @JuroKral Yeah i agree with Dumba gone and Benn possibly back, but this circles back to my point of, i don’t feel our backend has enough physicality. Keeping the same d-core and just swapping ceci/lundkvist does not fix the glaring hole we had. I think we need to take a shot in FA.

I just firmly believe a quality right side d core at the expense of letting some older guys go and replacing them with younger guys is fine by me.

@KyleBea96359130 @JuroKral I easily think you can. Trading them both frees up 7 mil. Say we sign perbix/joki to fill the rhd role, have petro be the 7th D. That would still give plenty of money to find another foward to fill the middle 6. A couple young guys for the bottom 6 and we’re all set.

@KyleBea96359130 @JuroKral Now this is where i disagree slightly, I agree going after a RHD was the move, trading for Mikko was 100% a great move. Half the guys you named up there are expendable, that meaning i would gladly weaken our bottom 6 giving young guys a chance to take a swing at a top 4 RHD.

@KyleBea96359130 @JuroKral This is exactly why just like @JuroKral, I believed if we gave up our 27 1st and a prospect while also dumping Dumba/Lybushkin we could probably get him a 50% retention or 5 mil. With the Duchene signing and now both our rfa trade assets signing back i don’t see it happening.

@KyleBea96359130 @JuroKral Yes but he gets the puck out quick which is what I think he’s alluding to here. He also is an offensive force which backs up saying the best defense is a strong forcheck.

@JuroKral @KyleBea96359130 I agree with all you’re saying here, which i why i loved the karlsson idea you had, but we’ve also seen ourselves constantly get stuck in our own d-zone in the playoffs, which i why i don’t believe running back the same core with a ceci/ lundkvist swap to best case scenario here.
