@jabo_vancouver I agree! That was the difference for us… we created chances that went nowhere. Morocco scored 3 times without creating more clear chances than us. We lack that extra level of quality in the fina third.
@GCM1979 “Continued ascension” is right. It’s a process. You don’t go from never having earned a single point in the WC to winning it all. It’s a process and while there are smaller milestones along the way, we only really get to measure our progress every 4 years.
@Mike_Leach1976 And now the entire world wants to see them lose and the farther they advance - assuming they do - the more fans around the world will despise the U.S. and FIFA.
@Mike_Leach1976@JeffreyPNesker Exactly. We had all that pressure in the first half and couldn’t capitalize on it. Morocco had a handful of chances and scored most of them.
@jharrisz The difference in quality was evident. We didn’t take advantage of all that pressure and Morocco gets a handful of opportunities and scores 3. We’re not there yet but we’ve made huge progress.
@armenzarg For those of us who regularly attend matches at BMO, the thought of a extra 15,000 people showing up for WC matches was rightly worrying. It’s impressive how well organized the match day experience was… extra trains, helpful people guiding fans, etc.
@Mike_Leach1976 Both teams would be scary, but I almost feel like we would handle the Dutch a little better. Morocco just seemed to be quicker to the ball and close down faster. We don’t like that kind of game.
@andystake88 It might be honest but it's also totally misguided. What does "desperate and risky shot" even mean? As soon as you say this you lose all credibility.
@jharrisz SA has a couple of stout defenders. Very impressive. Seems like most of the team plays in the SA league but a few of them appeared good enough to play in Europe for sure.
