“Nazi” isn’t a slur. It’s a word that describes real people who earnestly believe in their ideas. Their ideas are disgusting and hateful, but of course they often do not realize it.
I keep running into racists who think that it’s not white supremacist to think that white people are inherently superior to other races. No…that’s the whole definition!! The fact that they believe it earnestly and don’t think it’s an idiotic, hateful belief doesn’t mean it’s not an idiotic, hateful belief.
Nazi isn’t a word that means “bad evil boogeyman” it means “someone who believes in their own racial superiority, extreme protectionist nativism, the purifying of society by eliminating undesirables, expansionism, active suppression of dissent, and total state power held in the hands of a very small group.”
Make sure the people you’re cheering for don’t believe these things because otherwise…
@luvjenuine@litig8r99@ZackBornstein Hospitals are seeing rising numbers of hospital admissions for that “cold” you claim it is. Covid has easier symptoms for some but still kills others. Be so for real right now
And now he’s been acquitted. Absolutely ridiculous. He spent all his time hating Alissa and harassing her. Now she’s gone, they didn’t investigate anything properly, they lost evidence, and he is walking free because of that. Her sister has been fighting so hard for years.
"F***king little c*** sucker."
Words from defendant Michael Turney on a recording played in court in the Alissa Turney murder trial...and could he testify himself this week? It's possible. Alissa Turney went missing in 2001 and her stepfather is on trial for her murder.
As we head into the last week of trial, I'm breaking down the testimony from 2 Phoenix PD detectives about a botched investigation from the start, the conversation about a missing surveillance tape, and a letter to Phoenix PD...
@eligaultney@karamcnair Just because the people aren’t hospitalized doesn’t mean they aren’t getting it though. I’m not sure where that confusion lies. It may not be anywhere near the crisis that it was two or three years ago but it still is going around and spreads quickly.
The first conversation I had with my oncologist, we were just talking about his experiences as a doctor (which...awesome, it was very good to get know him a bit) and I ended up asking if people ever decide to not follow his advice.
He said yes, and he looked very sad and then he told me that every single one of conversations are going to be with him forever.
What a very hard thing that must be...to have someone turn down your advice...to not get chemo, or exit the treatment early, only to come back and find that now the prognosis is much worse and the treatment plan much less clear.
It seemed to me that, at least in part, he felt his inability to keep them on the treatment path was a personal failure. I wish I could take that guilt away from him, because it's not his fault. We're all susceptible to simple stories that give us back a sense of control, even if it's an illusion. And sometimes people cannot be convinced...and sometimes that's deadly.
I'm very grateful that my worldview meshes well with the most effective paradigms. I didn't get that because I'm smart, I got it by the luck of my upbringing. And if ever a doctor tells you that you need chemo...there will almost certainly be people in your life who tell you that you should try alternatives instead.
You. Should. Not.
You can and should do acupuncture and restorative yoga and aromatherapy and eat less sugar and whatever other things help you. But do those things AND get the treatment recommended by your oncologist. Cancer patients have control, it's just a different kind of control than we're used to, and it can be disruptive to an identity to submit to that lack of control. But that's just...having a body, and I'm very happy that I get to have a body.
Serena was only 14 yrs old when nude videos of her were uploaded to P*rnhub, sending her on a spiral of trauma, including suicide attempts, homelessness, & drug addiction.
Today this courageous woman is suing the hell out of P*rnhub, its executives, and Visa who enabled them.
how many more will be enough?
i am sick of it… and if you aren’t, then you’re part of the problem. keep your thoughts and prayers, we need real change. this is on all of us.
