The National Signals Bureau Training School, as announced by His Excellency, will indeed be built right here in Hohoe. A few weeks ago, I visited the municipality together with the MP and the MCE for Hohoe to inspect the designated 100-acre land earmarked for this important national project.

As part of activities marking the week-long 2025 National Farmers’ Day Celebration, I joined the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the Innovation, Research and Development Presentation Session—an important platform showcasing the groundbreaking work of our tertiary and research institutions across the agricultural value chain.

In my remarks, I noted that the security of our agricultural future, as captured in this year’s theme, rests heavily on the contributions of research institutions whose innovations drive sustainability and resilience. This session offered them the right opportunity to present bold ideas and forward-looking research capable of transforming Ghana’s food systems.

Today’s presentations featured remarkable work from Ho Technical University (HTU), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), and the University for Development Studies (UDS). Their innovations reflect the potential to propel Ghana’s agricultural sector into a more productive, modern and competitive future.

The event was chaired by Hon. John Dumelo, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture and MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, and was attended by distinguished academics and officials from the Ministry.

We will continue to support institutions whose research strengthens food security, enhances innovation, and positions Ghana’s agriculture for long-term growth.

I was at the Ho Sports Stadium this afternoon with the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, and MCE for Ho, Hon. Stephen Adom, to inspect the progress of work on the facility ahead of this year’s Farmers Day celebrations. The Volta Region is fully committed to hosting a beautiful and well organized national event that honors the tireless efforts of our farmers. We look forward to welcoming the nation to the Oxygen City on December 5.

I received a delegation from Stanbic Bank Ghana, led by the Head of Brand and Marketing, Mr. Mawuli Afadzinu, who paid a courtesy call on me ahead of their planned donation to the Ho Teaching Hospital.

The team briefed me on their support for the Hospital’s ongoing medical tourism drive, an important initiative aimed at strengthening specialised healthcare and positioning HTH as a leading medical destination.

I expressed my appreciation to Stanbic Bank for this thoughtful gesture and commended them for their strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. I also reiterated that the government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda will depend significantly on a vibrant and innovative banking sector and encouraged them to continue partnering with us to enhance development across the region.

Today, 20th November, 2025, I joined the District Chief Executive for South Dayi, Hon. Courage Kokroko, together with the chiefs and people of Peki Dzake, to commission a newly completed 4-unit teachers’ quarters.

This project reflects our shared commitment to improving education and supporting the dedicated teachers who serve our communities. Kudos to the District Assembly, the Member of Parliament, and all stakeholders for the roles they played in making this possible. Together we keep moving the Volta Region forward.

Yesterday, I joined the District Chief Executive for South Dayi, Hon. This facility represents another important step in strengthening the foundation of education delivery in the district.

Kudos to the Hon. DCE and the entire District Assembly, the Honourable Member of Parliament, and all stakeholders whose dedication, collaboration, and commitment made this project a reality. Their collective effort reflects what can be achieved when leadership and community work hand in hand.

This development also forms part of government’s deliberate and forward-looking policy that every new classroom block constructed must be complemented by a suitable accommodation facility for teachers. This policy is already improving teacher motivation, promoting retention in our rural communities, and ensuring that no child is left behind regardless of where they live.

As a region, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that uplift our schools, empower our teachers, and provide our children with the conducive learning environment they deserve. We will continue to work with our assemblies, MPs, traditional and religious authorities, and development partners to sustain this momentum.

This afternoon, I visited Agavedzi with the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, the Member of the Council of State representing the Volta Region, H. E. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, representatives from the Regional House of Chiefs, MCE for Ketu South, Hon. Nicholas Worclachie, DCE for Anloga, Hon. Sandra Seyram Kpedor, DCE for Keta, Hon. Wisdom Bondieu Seade, political and religious leaders as well as other key stakeholders.

Together, we inspected the progress of work on Phase 2 of the Blekusu sea defence project — work is progressing steadily. The engineers and contractors walked us through the work done so far and outlined their next steps toward full execution of the project.

We express our gratitude to H. E. President John Dramani Mahama for this project and for the many others ongoing across the region.
