One day sometimes ago, I got the information that my dad lost his phone. I sha went to buy him the exact replacement which is a torchlight phone. On presenting it to him the next day, he was happy about the gesture but he turned it down. He said “mi o lo tonasobe mo, emi naa fe lo android” (i don’t want to use torchlight phones again, i also want to use Android).

He said he would appreciate if i get him android instead. I stood in front of him like “wait, whaaaat, what just happened? 😮😮😮😮😳”

My dad has never directly ask any of his children for anything before. He is this kind of independent father. That moment was so honorable for me. Even my siblings celebrated it with me. He said “you can get it anytime you want to while I keep using this one pending the time”

Pending what? Alaye, you are getting your android phone today. I rushed to get it for him shaperly. My joy knew no bounds. Felt like I won jackpot.

Having parents who collect from you is honorable. I pray we always have to give.

They asked kids in my daughter's class to do a voice recording of Alphabet A-F sounds' and send it to the class whatsapp group.

In a group that has 69 participants, I was the only male voice who did it for/with their kid. For literally every other kid, it was their mom's voice asking as they responded.

Since yesterday, I've been wondering, is there like a rule that says only moms should do stuff like that? Am I doing too much? Or am I worried for nothing? Is taking kids through their homework the mom's responsibility?
