Dear CT,
Gentle reminder:
Stay away from all the foolish arguments of the immature, for these disputes will only generate more conflict.
For a true servant of our Lord Jesus will not be argumentative but gentle toward all and skilled in helping others see the truth, having great patience toward the immature.
Then with meekness you’ll be able to carefully enlighten those who argue with you so they can see God’s gracious gift of repentance and be brought to the truth.
This will cause them to rediscover themselves and escape from the snare of Satan who caught them in his trap so that they would carry out his purposes.
2 Timothy 2:23-26
Some years ago, a Nigerian Christian man who went to Ukraine to study saw so many disheartening sights on the streets of the city on his way to and from campus.
There were many Eastern Europeans who were lost to drug addiction and other destiny-destroying vices.
This condition is the usual direction which people who find themselves without hope, freedom, the right to dream and pursue their dream head in human reality.
They ask questions about purpose and destiny. They know they were created for a purpose, but when the environment is not conducive to the purpose of fulfilment, escape becomes the haven of the weary.
In many cases, drug addicts get into the habit to escape the disturbing reality they face in real life. I should be more, become more, do more, do better, be better, and achieve something meaningful with my life are valid questions every individual poses to himself or herself at one point or another in this world.
These internal struggles, especially when there are no obvious answers or hope of an answer, would usually lead people into vices.
There are several ways to ease this condition; you cannot help every individual to fulfil their destiny. That duty is sancrosanct and personal, but you can offer a conducive environment for their aspirations to find an expression and a possible route to fulfilment.
The government is usually expected to do this. Create an enabling environment for the citizens to become whatever it is that they aspire to be.
When the government fails to do this, the citizens become frustrated, and the end result is that some of them would seek thrills and escape through drugs.
This was the condition in Ukraine in the 90s. The young Nigerian man was, however, a Christian. He understood that there is a divine destiny that does not need government policy to find fulfilment. This destiny is in Christ, not religion!
He began to witness to the drug addicts on his free days. He would show them love, assure them they could beat the trappings of their drug problem and show them the power of the word of God in rehabilitating them and setting them on the right path.
Within months, he had a group of people who believed in his message of hope and thronged to him on campus and on the street.
This was how he started a church.
Eastern Europe had been under the heavy influence of the Soviet Union and its "No God" policy for several years.
The government was at first skeptical of this young man's moves, but they turned a blind eye when they realised that he was curing the ills in their society and getting a lot of people off their drug habits.
The gospel he preached was Christ.
What Jesus came to do
What Jesus has done
The implication of what Jesus has done for every man and woman
What the Holy Spirit has come to do for anyone who believes in Jesus and accepts HIM as Lord and Saviour
The power that the believer has from the moment he or she becomes anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit
The supernatural life and realities of every believer.
This gospel was revolutionary in a country that had long declared that God was dead.
It changed the lives of millions of people.
The news of the exploits of this man went global within a few years
Many pastors started using him as an example to their missionaries and young pastors
His church was full of "White" folks who had valid testimonies and infallible proofs of their transformative destinies in Christ.
This pastor then came to Nigeria to see some of the biggest ministries in Nigeria and learn one or two things from them.
He didn't write to any of them to introduce himself
He wanted to attend their services as a believer and glean from the wealth of their knowledge.
His experience was shocking.
He saw that Nigerian pastors at the highest level were not preaching the gospel
They were teaching people about family battle, evil pattern, evil arrow, family deliverance, witches, witchcraft, voodoo, juju, sorcery, divination, glory thief, dream life, spirit husband and spirit wife, Queen of the coast, village people, enemy of Father's house, Strongman of mother's house, quarterly deliverance, fasting for anointing, seed sowing to be able to prophesy and all sorts of things that filled the minds of their members with the consciousness of the devil, evil and darkness and nothing of any value about Christ and His finished work on the cross.
He couldn't hold back his criticism, which was posted all over social media and YouTube.
A lot of Nigerian Christians have, through the teachings of these so-called pastors embrace a strange mindset full of fear and unproductive activities, which has become a substitute for the drug addiction epidemic he saw in Ukraine when he travelled there as a student.
Prayer books were being written and sold to people who then end up learning all these demon-inspired prayer points that have nothing to do with their destiny in Christ.
He bought some of the books and saw prayer points like "Every market where my glory is being sold at night, I shut you down" and so on.
How do prayers like this inspire the believer to walk in the fullness of the power of the gospel?
How can any demon ever aspire to sell the glory of the believer, which Jesus gave to Him in John 17?
Will a demon sell the glory of Jesus?
The way these pastors interpret the bible to their congregation is so twisted that it has produced a morbid and gory mindset in their members.
This mindset then reinforces what they were being taught in their dreams and life experiences.
These Christians suspect everybody of trying to hurt them or being possessed and are quick to run to their pastors for deliverance, even though they are full of the Holy Spirit and should be the LIGHT delivering the unbelievers from darkness.
The final blow was how the believers don't know they are saved and are always begging God to count them worthy of salvation or entry into heaven instead of acknowledging that they have eternal life and have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Unfortunately, the religious industry in Nigeria is a trillion Naira juggernaut that cannot be stopped.
The church leaders continue to milk members by preying on their fear of the enemy, an imaginary evil forces and the wrath of God.
The believers in the Bible were addressed as SAINTS in all the epistles, but the believers in Nigeria are always praying and begging for forgiveness of sin because they see themselves as sinners.
It was as if the leaders of the churches in Nigeria deliberately set up their ministries to teach a distorted version of the gospel so that their members would never really enjoy the liberty and power that Jesus purchased for them with his blood.
Sin consciousness, devil consciousness, enemy consciousness, evil consciousness, and hell consciousness were what the average Nigerian Churches feed their members.
No wonder they are so powerless.
Some of them are scared of cats, cockroaches, wall geckos, snails, and other things, and often attribute evil omen to these things if they see them in real life or in a dream.
PS: The average Nigerian Christian should pick up the Bible and read it plainly for themselves.
Read with the mindset that the word was written to show you who you are and your true destiny in Christ.
Once you discover the truth, throw away all the books, teachings, and totems reinforcing your old belief system.
Flush your system by praying in the Holy Spirit and reading the Bible daily.
You will find your body full of light and your spirit ascending into the places predetermined for you in Christ in no time.

The place of Water Baptism
One ‘constant’ across Christian denominations was the place of water baptism. Described as the intentional and public expression of a desire to follow the way of Christ, a lot of symbolism and structures were set around it - so much so that it is considered a tenet among many.
Yesterday, I flashed back to the day someone deprioritized the role of water baptism - basically downplaying its place as a tenet among Christians. The key point raised was that the true baptism - and the only one which makes a difference - is baptism in the Holy Spirit.
I also recalled another teaching that basically dragged water baptism and painted it as a ‘feel good’ activity. Ouch! Did this person not understand how important water baptism had been to the advancement of Christianity? Did they not read the Bible to see the many times prominent figures were baptized in water after conversion?
But then the real questions came up in my quiet moments. Who truly established the act of water baptism for Christians? I already knew many folks in desert regions practiced it especially Arabs. Did Christ actually baptize people in water or was this simply an interplay of culture in Christianity?
Wouldn’t it be interesting to note that nowhere in the scriptures is it recorded that Jesus baptized anyone in water. You might be tempted to refute this on the premise of scriptural references from your churches Sunday school manual.
Quoting John 4:1, you’ll fall into the typical fallacy many church manuals present where they pick one scripture out of context to establish a position. It seems to say Jesus did it, well then He did it. But here’s the catch (and my rebuttal):
1. ‘Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John….’
The verse wasn’t establishing that Jesus was actually baptizing more than John. Rather, its emphasis was the state of the Pharisees and their motivator at that moment of Jesus’ ministry
2. ‘although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized but His disciples.’
The next verse then addresses any possible misrepresentation by directly refuting any claims to Jesus actually baptizing anyone in water. John (the beloved) was essentially saying ‘hey y’all, don’t get it twisted, Yeshua didn’t baptize anyone in water. It was actually us his disciples that did that’
The very same sentiments were echoed by John the Baptizer in Matthew 3:11. He said ‘I, John, baptize you with water. But there is one coming after me, Jesus, who isn’t doing the whole water baptism thing but is going to be baptizing with the Holy Spirit and power’. Does that track?
Take a further dive into the rest of the New Testament and you’ll see the consistency of this. Acts 1:5 reiterates this expressly that John (again) truly did baptize with water but those who come to Christ would be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
So if it’s a John thing, why are believers so hung on it? If it’s bigger than John but is a Judaism thing, question still stands - why are believers hung on it?
A pivotal point that validates where to stand is captured in Acts 10. Peter met Cornelius and while he yet spoke, they all began to speak in tongues. Only then did Peter make an obvious sentimental decision to baptize them in water. It wasn’t at the lead or instruction of the Holy Spirit. It was a customary practice from when the Jews were still gatekeeping Christianity.
Summarily, water baptism is purely physical and having no spiritual connotation. It’s easily in the same box as circumcision - and I reckon that Paul would agree with me

Ezekiel 1, 2 Kings 2:11, 2 Kings 6:17, 2 Kings 13:14, Psalm 68:17, Psalm 104:3
During our annual Night of Glory for the month of March 2026, I suddenly became overwhelmed with the presence of God, so I had to close the service early. I knew I was going into a trance because of how my body began to react with urgency to the power of the Holy Spirit.
I knew it would be a journey into journeys, a sight into sight, and it would be beyond the depth I had ever been to before in my journey with God
I barely stumbled into bed, with my heart racing, with tongues being spoken without words
Early this morning, I had a vision; I saw an angel of the Lord, and He took me out of the earth realm
I went into a higher altitude in the atmosphere, it felt like riding a hurricame but instead of riding it horizontally, it was a vertical journey. Then we got to a point, and we rested. I could feel all the energy of the wind I was riding beneath my feet as its energy flowed from it through my body and back into it as we journeyed as one entity.
While I stood in the middle of the gulf between heaven and the earth, an angel called to me from a far distance above me. He said This is the depth that was promised, but you must adapt to it, so run now.”
So we took off, and we were moving at about 500 miles an hour. It was like riding a skate, but moving so fast and without any fear of injury. Everything was speeding past in a blur, and also with clarity
I noticed we were racing through the nations of the earth, but not from within the earth. It felt like a projection of nations, communities, states, and peoples in real life on earth being reflected in this realm while we raced through them
I saw China, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and Iran. Iraq, Kuwait, Europe, Africa, Asia, and North and South America
I asked the Lord what this meant, and He said to me, “I will light up the nations, I will illuminate the Cities, I will bring knowledge to the people with irrefutable proof, I will do this with speed, and I will do this with power.”
Then I came into a gathering of lights, i couldn’t see their faces but they were all in human form, not angels and they were full of light from head to toe. The Lord said to me. “These are the lights I will flood the nations with. I have prepared them as shining lights and fire. They will bring understanding and they will make the altars waiting for fire to burn by my Spirit.”
And that’s when the word of the Lord came so strong that there is a chariot of fire about to take you from where you are to your place of Destiny.
I want to take you to the book of 2nd Kings 2:11.
“As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.”
In other words, God is speaking about the entourage of heaven, the brigade-in-parade of heaven. The chariot of fire came between Elijah and his protege, Elisha, and separated them as this chariot is the glory that separates realms between the physical and the supernatural.
It separated Elijah from Elisha before Elijah was taken to heaven by a whirlwind
Everybody is going somewhere but we are not all going to the same places.
We are all going towards different destinations and amazingly the length of your journey determines the type of equipment or vehicle that takes you there. It’s difficult to drive a car from North America to Europe because the journey is really far.
If you are going next street, you can not use a jumbo jet, you might use a bicycle or a scooter; all you need is a tiny piece of equipment. If God is taking you far, the Spirit of God will have to specially prepare the vehicle that will take you there. And the vehicle that will take you to an enviable place of destiny is not the same as what is required to take someone that is going next door. That is why when it comes to your race with God you cannot compare your journey with someone else’s because you might not be heading in the same direction or destination.
Whenever the Spirit of the Lord has earmarked your journey and God wants you to go to places that nobody in your family, generation or community has ever been then the Spirit of God prepares a special kind of vehicle that’s going to take you. God says you cannot go to that destination with a turbo plane or a train or bicycle or even a race car.
God says I will prepare the momentum of the Spirit and it’s going to be upon the chariots of fire.
God never sends his power to maintain your mundane life, God sends power to propel you into his will for your life.
I know that you’ve got your own ideas and program about what you want to do with your life, but God says that’s not where I meet with you, if you are going to really encounter authentic and tangible kingdom power, you have to walk out of your own expectation and submit to God and say “Lord I know I’ve got my own agenda but at this hour, I’m asking that your Spirit take me out of my own system and propel me into God’s agenda for my life”.
Step into the agenda of God and say “Lord, I’ve tried my own program and it has failed but this time I’m going in the power of God, I’m going in the Name of the Lord, I’m going on the wings of the Holy Ghost, I’m going on the chariots of fire, not my will but your will be done in my life. Not my plan but your plan”.
When Jesus came, the disciples were nursing the idea that He came to deliver them from the oppression of the Romans, they tried to make him fit in, they even tried to crown him their king but Jesus said No! I came to establish a higher Kingdom that will continue for millennia and unto eternity.
Christ’s Kingdom is bigger and greater than anything his disciples understood. Christ kept telling them that greatness is coming, destiny is coming, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. He told them about a heavenly Kingdom that is not of this world. Jesus tried to show them that the will of God for Him was bigger than what they saw, but they did not see it, they did not understand it.
For you to comprehend God’s purpose for your life, you have to go to the realm of the Spirit and get what the Spirit is saying.
Human capacity unaided by the Holy Spirit cannot fathom the expansiveness of your divine destiny. People who love you cannot comprehend your life by what they think of you. You have to hear God. What is God saying about your life? God says “I am about to bless you with a blessing that will intimidate the devil”. It’s not by might nor by power but by the Spirit.
In 1 Corinthians 2:10, the Bible says,“These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God”.
How could the chariot of fire, come and whisk a man physically, while he is alive, out of the earth? Deep things! How can you become the head of a business conglomerate within a few months of starting out in your career?
How can you start a ministry from your sitting room and take it global successfully within a year?
How can you invent startups that takes over the world of innovation and technology by the storm within a few months?
How does your name become a global name and your brand become a global brand when you were relatively unknown at the beginning of the year?
How do you meet and get married to the love of your life within a few days and yet find great joy and happiness in the union several years later?
How do you come into fruitful and productive relationships as a minister?
Deep things!
How can you become the head of an International Agency and people you don’t even know are serving you? Deep things!
Your parents, family, and many people around you may like you and wish well for you, but when it comes to deep and big things, it comes from the Spirit. Not your certificates, not the color of your skin, not your education, but from God. God says to tell you, I’m about to do deep things in your life in this season, and it’s going to overwhelm you. Forget about thinking, just receive it because this is bigger than your thoughts. What eyes have not seen, what ears have not heard, what has never happened to anybody. He’s getting ready to manifest that level of His glory in your life.
Deep things, Deep things, Deep things! When it comes to the journey of Destiny, it comes from the Spirit. That is why you are not like everybody else. That is why you get misunderstood and criticized sometimes.
You can’t get deep things while living a shallow life; you cannot encounter deep things on a surface-level faith. You must be deep in God!
Do not follow the bandwagon. Deep things come to those who dig deep.

When You Are In The Wrong Story
There are many reasons why people stay in toxic systems as long as they do. Some of those reasons are rooted in the human sins of pride and ambition, and some in the human foibles of fear or ignorance. But not all are.
In some cases, what’s at work is “betrayal blindness.” The concept refers to the need for a person to trust a spouse, a parent, a caregiver, or a leader and, when betrayed by them, to fluctuate between the need to end the abuse and the need to preserve the relationship.
The “betrayal blindness” concept is the unconscious, protective inability to recognize, acknowledge, or process a betrayal of trust by a significant person or institution. This survival mechanism helps victims maintain crucial relationships and safety by "not knowing" what they see.
This is why some people stay in situations that, from the outside, are clearly toxic.
Understanding the concept is essential for churches and other institutions to overcome the epidemic of abuse and abuse cover-ups. It’s also essential for making sense of the even-more-normalized patterns of toxic and spiritually abusive practices that characterize too many churches, ministries, governments, and political movements.
Every person is created with a need to be loved and accepted by those in authority, starting with parents. When a parent rejects a child through abuse or neglect, some children cannot bear the psychological ramifications of thinking there is something wrong with their parents.
After all, such a thought would end with a scary and chaotic world, where the child would feel unprotected and alone. In some cases, then, the child concludes that there is something wrong with himself or herself. Sometimes the child thinks, “If only I behave better and work harder, then I can find safety and also help the caregiver be better.”
More often than not, this pattern of thinking doesn’t stop with childhood. Many of us have counseled abused women who conclude that the problem was that they didn’t adequately alleviate their partner’s stress.
A spouse who is cheated on sometimes concludes that he or she wasn’t attractive enough, or is in some other way to blame for what happened. This often happens in church situations, where people sometimes find it difficult to see—sometimes until years later—that what they assumed was just “the messiness of dealing with people” turns out to have been a toxic and harmful environment.
That’s especially true when institutions—even churches—sometimes further the abuse of victims (or those who seek to help them) by gaslighting them, as though their reaction to the abuse—not the abuse itself—is the problem.
Sometimes that happens when a person critiques the particular way the victim brought forward the complaint, or searches for other issues to pin on the victim.
In a church or ministry situation, this is especially perilous. When a person has been taught to see the church as “home” and as “family,” they sometimes start to question whether the red flags they have seen are real.
When they are charged with sacrificing the “unity” of the ministry, they sometimes start to believe the rhetoric that they—not the problem itself—are the issue. Any institution can bully and intimidate a whistleblower—but no institution can do so with more claimed power than one that says, “If you do this, you’re walking away from Jesus.”
Just as a child with a parent, some people cannot bear to think that a church, ministry, or denomination—especially those that introduced them to Jesus—could be fraudulent.
Some part of them might begin to think, “Maybe what they told me about Jesus and about the gospel might be fraudulent, too.” And so they sometimes start to look for other possible explanations—ones that will pin the blame on themselves, rather than on those who are making things wrong.
Often, these people cannot even imagine themselves apart from their church, ministry, or denomination, so enmeshed is their identity with it. As neurologists and psychologists have shown, the experience of exile from a tribe is often experienced in the same way as physical pain.
The rationalizations, then, can be easy to believe: “The mission is too important for me to spend time dwelling on my intuitions telling me something’s not right”; or, “No one else seems to see this, so I must be the crazy one”; or, “If I’m gone, I’ll be replaced by someone much worse, and I can do more from the inside.” As we’ve seen time and time again, those lines of thinking end in disaster.
Even then, sometimes the counsel of outside friends is just as second-guessed as one’s own doubts. And sometimes it takes a breaking point to see that leaving is necessary.
When you are in a toxic and spiritually abusive environment or relationship, do the right thing for yourself and leave
Some years ago, I read a children’s book to my son. As I read the final statement at the end of Mo Willems’s Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs: “If you find yourself in the wrong story, leave.” I put away the book and realized, “I’m in the wrong story.”
The next thing many will then think is “what will people say,” especially those who are in a deeply religious situation where their calling as “Pastor” or “Minister” seems to be seriously tied to their identity, relationships, friendships, social status, and acceptability in society.
Divorcees are heavily stigmatized and practically treated like apostates in many Christian church settings. Abusive and Toxic husbands and wives who got married to pastors/ministers often find this fact empowering because they know their victim cannot leave the marriage without leaving everything important to him or her calling behind.
Many stay because they see their predicament as their cross which they have to bear, others stay because they cannot bear being alone with a thousand fingers pointing at them while screaming “crucify him or crucify her”. Some are, however, brave enough to leave. They know there will be speculations, all sorts of lies, and all sorts of hearsays. They know there would be rumors, and a lot of pastors and fellow Christians with whom they had broken bread and shared fellowship would suddenly start treating them like the devil
They know their circle of friends would have to change and that they would become sermon topics in many churches and for many people.
Two men met at the petrol station. One was recently separated from his toxic wife, while the other was still married. They were family friends, and both couples used to meet every other Sunday for House fellowship or birthday parties and other events in the church.
The married man said to the separated one, “I miss you, but my wife said we cannot be friends with you and also with your wife; we have to pick a side, and she has picked your wife, so I cannot be your friend anymore.”
The separated one nodded understandingly, bought his fuel, and drove away without saying a word.
The scandals and frauds, deceptions and abuses within the church are the responsibility of all of us who belong to it.
We have to take many steps—from creating accountability structures to training people how to identify problems to teaching leaders how to care for those harmed by them.
We must insist on protections for whistleblowers. But we also should take steps—long before problems emerge—to train people to see the vision of the church Jesus has given us, where accountability is not sacrificed for unity and integrity is not sacrificed for mission.
As early as Sunday school, we should start helping people tell the difference between loyalty to Christ and loyalty to someone who would claim his name.
We should expend resources teaching them how to know when they are manipulated into blaming themselves and when they should step forward to say, “Something is wrong here.”
And we need to teach people that the story of Jesus does not harm the vulnerable. So if you find yourself in the wrong story, you can always leave.

I was working in a church office as a PA to a Pastor a few years ago
While I was still there, things began to change for me so drastically that even I couldn't believe it
After a while, I had to leave because I had grown seriously bigger than the position I was holding
I also left because the Lord said it was time for me to leave.
After leaving, I realised my heart remained with all my fellow staff members at the church office
I know their stories, their children, their wives and husbands, their plight, and their struggles
It felt a bit unfair that we were once in the same boat, and somehow God singled me out to do so much better than they were doing
Whenever I had some downtime, I would go to the office, buy lunch for everybody, and spend some time catching up with the staff members I left behind
As time went on, I asked for the account numbers of all the staff members, and I began to give all of them a monthly stipend and also something extra during the Easter and Christmas period
Nobody asked me to do it
It just felt right, and I had too much money at the time without any concrete plans as to what to do with the inflow.
I was never greedy for gains, and I like to live a simple and godly life.
It is the only way I could enjoy my life.
After a year of doing this, international doors opened for me, and I began to tour the world twice a year.
Whenever I travelled, I would remember all the staff members of my former office and buy them gifts.
Some with needs like rent, some money to help them purchase a car, support towards a wedding, naming of their babies, baby delivery, health, and other emergencies received such freely from me at the time.
As I said, I felt it was the least I could do to support them because my life changed so much, and it continued to get better and better daily.
On my return from one of my international tours in 2023, I had a ministeration somewhere in Lagos.
I dressed up for the ministration and told my driver to take me to my former office so that I could drop the gifts and souvenirs I bought for my ex-colleagues and also spend some time with them.
When I got there, something remarkable happened. One of the staff members, the one I considered to be most mature and whom I took as a big brother, asked me to give him my belt.
He wore one, but it was torn and tattered.
I told him I was going for a ministration and would be in meetings after that throughout the day.
He said he does not care. I should take off the belt and hand it over to him immediately, or he would command the security guards to block the door and delay me from leaving for my meeting.
I laughed and told him I would send him the money to buy another belt or give him the cash right there, but that I couldn't give him the belt I was wearing that morning.
He smiled and told the security guards to block the door.
He said he may not have the power to take the belt from me, but he has the power to keep me in their office for as long as possible.
I am a minister of the gospel, and there is a way I must carry myself in public
I was determined not to lose my cool or get angry, especially over this brother's behaviour, which was masked by joviality and fake laughter.
I realised at that moment that he was telling me that I reminded them too much of where they were as my former colleagues whenever I came to visit, and he no longer appreciated my visits.
So I took off the belt and gave it to him.
He collected my belt, too.
Once that was done, he picked up the intercom and told the security guys to allow me to exit the building whenever I wanted.
I smiled and took my leave
As I was descending the steps, another staff member, a female with whom I was a PA for five years, walked up to me and said, "He did that deliberately because during an argument with another staff member in the office one day, he boasted that 'Gbenga is my boy. As big as he is now, if he comes into this office, I will collect the belt he is wearing, and he must give it to me because I am his spiritual senior."
She asked me not to be angry.
I thanked her and took my leave.
My driver took me to ICM, and I got another belt at the Tommy Store Outlet.
When I got home that day, I told my accountant not to give anyone from that office a penny again.
I stopped picking up the calls of any of the staff members, and I stopped going there for any form of visitation.
Weeks went by, and they realised the payments had stopped, and I was no longer picking up calls.
Messages trooped in from every one of them, praying for me and encouraging me not to stop the support I was giving them.
I ignored them all.
There is a statement in the Bible that stuck with me. It was that statement that I heard as I woke up earlier this morning. It is in 1 Kings 20:11.
"A man who puts on (his armour to go to battle) should not boast like the man who takes it off (after the battle has been won" Amplified Version.
David boasted before fighting Goliath. Goliath boasted before fighting David. Only one of them lived when they fought. The one who lived was the one who took off the sword of the one who died.
We should learn not to boast except in the power and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
PS: Know when you are wanted somewhere and know when you are not wanted.
If you are given access to certain people which is of benefit to you, try not to abuse the access
There is great dignity in keeping a respectable distance from people. Familiarity breeds contempt.

He found himself in deep spiritual trouble when he joined a group of spiritualists who were adept at manipulating demonic powers as a teenager.
His mother had warned him that those people were not Christians despite their obvious religious carriage and the prominent name of Jesus, which they call as part of their prayer process.
His mother told him that when she was young, she saw a prophet from that cult group hypnotize a young lady who was about sixteen years old for not kneeling down to greet him, and that the parents of the poor girl had to beg the prophets for months before he released her from his spell.
She said the prophet was sleeping with the young lady and had practically turned her into a zombie for the period of seven months she spent with him.
She said neither of the prophet's two other wives had the guts to say a word due to their fear of his spiritual power.
He heard his mother clearly, and he also believed her, but he met and fell in love with a young lady attending that church at the age of nineteen and forgot all about his mother's warnings.
Even then, his mother still told him that nothing good would come from the relationship, but he wouldn't listen to reason.
The closer he got to the lady, the more he was drawn into their church
Proximity often blunts one's sight, and he began to see the activities of the church as "not so bad"
Eventually, he joined the church.
His girlfriend was the daughter of a pastor in one of the parishes of the church, but his parish was in another state.
His girlfriend, his girlfriend's mother, and her siblings all live in another state and see their father one weekend every month.
After joining, his girlfriend told him to keep away from the prophets of the church, especially a particular prophetess whose children were all unfortunate in all their life's endeavours.
His girlfriend told him that the prophetess conjures some deep, dark spiritual forces, and because she was often assisted by her children in doing the said "spiritual works", all her children became dull and unproductive in life. She said the demons they conjure for the purpose of those spiritual works usually have serious implications for those who conjure them.
He listened and promised himself that he would never have anything to do with the prophetess and her kind.
Her girlfriend had confirmed what his mother had always told him. However, his girlfriend presented it in a way that made it seem like some members of the cult were for good while others were for evil.
All he had to do was choose the good ones and avoid the evil ones.
He ought to have taken to his heels at that point, but lust wouldn't let him. Unlike other Christian churches, where strict moral guidelines were enforced, the cult has a very loose culture with regard to sex and marriage.
So he stayed, for the sex.
A day came, the church declared a vigil, and he attended with his girlfriend.
Right in the middle of the vigil, the evil prophetess came into the church and asked him if he could read the Yoruba Bible fluently
He said he could
The evil prophetess then said to him, "Follow me."
He followed her until they got to a small rock by the riverside. This particular cult group almost always built a church beside a river.
When they got there, he saw a man on his knees, holding a candle that was shaped like a pregnant woman.
The evil prophetess lit the candle, took some palm fronds, and wrapped them around the man's hands
She gave him a Bible which was opened to a particular scripture in the Book of Song of Songs.
She told him to read it out loud.
He began to read...
Suddenly, a being with a glistening appearance rose out of the river and towered above the three of them.
He saw the being, and he fainted right there.
When he woke up, it was morning
Several candles had been lit all around him
His girlfriend was the only one in the church waiting for him
The evil prophetess was there, too
He opened his eyes, and the evil prophetess told him that he had fainted because the spirits had manifested themselves to him
She gave him some honey to lick and told him to go home.
That was the genesis of his affliction.
When he got home, he had a terrible headache that felt as if his head was going to be split in half
The headache lasted for three days before it suddenly stopped by itself after defying every form of medication.
The following month, on the same day, the headache returned.
It became a recurring problem.
He went to the church to complain.
They told him to buy a sponge and soap to wash his head in the river. He did so, but there was no change.
His girlfriend took him to another branch of their church, where they said another powerful prophetess could help.
The problem persisted
One day, his girlfriend was attacked in her sleep.
She screamed in a hoarse voice, holding on to her chest as she woke up.
Minutes later, she was vomiting blood and had to be rushed to her father's church.
It was at that point that he realised he was in deep trouble.
The daughter of a pastor was attacked, and she was vomiting blood instantly.
He was experiencing unnatural headaches once a month for a period of between three and five days.
He couldn't tell his mother the cause of his illness because it would have led to the end of his relationship with his girlfriend.
He suffered for many months until he gave his life to Jesus almost two years later. Even then, the headaches still come once a month, but their intensity has reduced drastically, and sometimes, if he stayed away from the light, he was able to manage the headache for its entire duration.
His girlfriend found another person and called off the relationship after ten years.
He left the church in protest
She was the reason he was attending anyway.
He joined another church, became filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to study the Scriptures passionately.
One day, he was told he would be teaching the Bible Study in his new church. He had been reading through the book of 1 Samuel, and on that day, he began to read 1 Samuel 30.
When he read the scriptures to a point, he felt very sleepy, so he placed the open scripture on his chest and fell asleep on the couch.
The first thing he heard was the sound of water pouring into a bucket full of water. He was half awake as he heard this and wanted to rush off to the bathroom to confirm if the tap was not left running.
To his amazement, he couldn't rouse himself from the couch.
He was there, half awake and experiencing a deliriously beautiful feeling at his core.
Next, he felt water on his head, washing his head backwards with electric sensations that he could not describe, washing all over him.
Suddenly, he felt himself levitate on the couch.
His entire body was suspended in the air, and the water washed all over his body.
After a few minutes, he was back on the couch, and the sensations began to ebb off, but he still felt the presence of God all over.
He wanted to see if it was the Lord Jesus or an angel who was in the room with him.
He could sense the presence, but he was afraid the person would disappear if he opens his eyes.
Eventually, he heard the words "I have healed you and restored you completely".
At this point, he opened his eyes and caught a glimpse of a white light in the form of a flowing robe disappearing.
He would have sprang up to confirm, but he was too sleepy
He slept off again and woke up at about 5:30 in the evening.
He dressed up and went to church. He taught on Divine Restoration using 1 Samuel 30. He shared the story of his monthly battle with headaches and testified that he believed the Lord Jesus had healed him of that affliction forever.
The parish pastor who took the offering after him confirmed that while he was praying that afternoon, the Lord told her to be in church that day to receive a word.
The parish pastor encouraged him to pray for everybody present, and he did so.
The testimonies of restoration in the form of health, finances, and time that season were abundant.
The parish pastor, who was owed millions by the federal government, was paid the following day.
The strange headache has disappeared from that day till today.
This is a personal experience of the Brother in Jeans and a T-shirt.

You will be surprised when you ask lots of believers what it means for a church or an individual to be spiritual.
A lady gave her heart to Jesus and felt she needed a hot spiritual church to attend because she believed she was still not free. So she started attending one of the popular deliverance churches in Nigeria. Every time they gathered in church, almost all their prayer points were about enemies, demons, marine spirits, family altars, and warfare.
Their Facebook posts and almost all their books contained such warfare prayers. This lady was happy that she had come to a hot church. They had done deliverance on her many times. She knew so much about the kingdom of darkness but knew very little about Jesus whom she had received.
One day she read a tweet, just as you are reading this now, about living the Christ life. She became interested and joined the online platform. For the first time she was filled with the Spirit.
She was someone who used to think speaking in tongues was gibberish, and she didn’t want to offend the Holy Spirit. But in this platform she was taught Christ. She began praying in the Spirit, learning Christ, and she started adjusting her religious mentality that was full of warfare into a Christ mentality that is full of victory.
She began withdrawing from that church. She told her friend in the church that she needed to know Christ. But remember, this friend is also a born again Christian.
She explained to her that the environment would not help her know Christ because it made them more demon conscious and enemy conscious instead of being Christ conscious.
But the lady asked her a question
“Can I find another church that is hot and spiritual like this one?”
Remember, she had already done deliverance many times, even gone to their headquarters for deliverance. What she called hot and spiritual was a church that constantly talked about warfare, enemies, witches’ confessions, marine spirits, and altars.
Their pastor once said that if you sleep with a virgin, you have initiated a covenant with the virgin and that covenant would affect your life. But that would mean the virgin covenant is stronger than the new and better covenant in Christ.
I also once heard another brother who attends such places say that God told him he must marry a virgin to erase all the past errors of his life.
I once believed in all these things too, as many people still do today. But that is not the truth.
Warfare and all these things do not make you more spiritual. Which is why we need to know the gospel. If the gospel does not produce a sound mind in you, nothing else can hence why you keep looking for the new trendy hot seeing pastor.
The Bible says
“God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Sound mind is the spirituality of a believer.
Sound mind is not when you equate a spiritual or hot church to constant warfare prayers, enemies, demons, and altars.
Sound mind is when you know that Christ is in you, and because of that you don’t need any more deliverance.
I always ask myself this question Why multiple deliverances?
Is it that the demons are more powerful?
Was the previous deliverance not complete?
Sound mind is what shows that you are spiritual. It shows that you are spiritually minded.
Spirituality is not about constantly shouting warfare prayer points.
Spirituality is praying in the Spirit, communicating with the Spirit, thinking as the Spirit thinks (mind of Christ) ,walking in the Spirit, and living the higher life that is above all devils because Christ lives in you.
There are certain things in life that are not in unending supply; they’re limited. One of them is time. Learn to save time. Keep track of your time. Our opening verse says for us to redeem the time because the days are evil. If you play a game, maybe soccer, for example, they may give you extra time. However, life is not a game, and there’s no extra time. Therefore, make every day count in your life. Take the opportunity of every day to improve yourself and introduce something into your life that’s worth the while; something positive.
Invest your time wisely. Seize the moment. Make a decision for success today. Don’t wait; don’t procrastinate. Success is for the man who says “yes” to success. Success is for the man who plans for it, who reaches out for it. Who says, “I’ll wake up at such-and-such a time to study,” and he wakes up. Success is for the man who says, “I’ll read this book at this time,” and he reads it! Success is for the man who says, “I’ll go to school,” and he goes. Choose to be a success.
Time is fixed and never seems enough, and so we have to make time for important things. If you have a task or project, do it at the stipulated time. Successful people are time-conscious. Success is waiting for the man who makes a decision. Don’t spend your time watching television or video 24 hours a day. Those you’re watching have put their best into what you’re watching.
Yesterday may be gone, but you have today; make it count. You may not be able to change yesterday, but you can plan today to change tomorrow. You can do something about tomorrow, and to do something about tomorrow, you’ve got to do it today. So make the most of your time. Remember, there’s no extra time; therefore, whatever you do now, do it the best way the first time.
Oh dearest! There’s a question that follows you through every storm, every silence, every season of waiting: Does God really love me?

Praying is not a job
I see many Christians in Nigeria who have turned praying into their form of productive employment.
These individuals claim that due to the long hours they spend in prayer, they have a special standing with God, and people dealing with various life issues should come to them for supernatural intervention.
James 5:16 says the earnest, heartfelt, and persistent prayer of the righteous (not by a righteous man on behalf of another person) releases tremendous, dynamic power, which enables divine intervention to change situations
This is not prayer for hire but prayer by the individual.
Many of us have seen situations where one child begins to speak or negotiate on behalf of the other children when communicating with their parents.
Oftentimes, the parent would tell that child to let the other children speak for themselves.
Prayer is communication; it helps the one praying to get to know God intimately. It then produces the power of faith and live instructions to the person who prayed in real time.
To hand over the reins of your prayer life to one pastor or prophet, who then acts as the intermediary between you and God, in exchange for money, is not acceptable.
The worst kind of Christians are those ones who refuse to do anything productive with their lives while hiding behind "praying for people" as their job.
Most of them could hardly feed themselves and their families, and sometimes resort to all forms of lies and manipulations in order to eke out some money from the pockets of gullible folks who have worked hard for their money.
A Christian has been given the power to pray while being functional at any given task at the same time.
Pray while driving, swimming, coding, accounting, computing, programming, running, playing football, ironing, dancing, diving, piloting, and so on.
Praying is not a job.
You cannot tell me you are praying for me, and as a result of that, I owe you money for your rent, to pay the school fees of your children, or meet any of your needs.
As a pastor or prophet, your duty is to teach and encourage the believer to pray and not to become the one who prays for them in exchange for financial gains.
I must not fail to address those big pastors who keep young men and women in their employ as prayer merchants who pray for them day and night.
Not only is this practise absurd and unchristian, but it is also enabling poverty and laziness.
I have even seen cases where these prayer merchants were handed identity cards with job descriptions like "Prayer Warrior".
The pay is usually nothing to write home about, and these destinies are more or less in bondage.
Some can quote scriptures with reference to thousands of prophets kept in a cave in the days of Elijah and the sons of the prophets of the days of Elisha.
Jesus never did this, and there is no example of it in the New Testament.
Prayer is not meant to be prayed in isolation.
We pray, and then we use the power that prayer made available to achieve great feats to the glory of God.

The way TPT captures this verse puts in context the framework of Jesus’ modus operandi while on earth
“When he heard this, he said, “This sickness will not end in death for Lazarus, but will bring glory and praise to God. This will reveal the greatness of the Son of God by what takes place.”
John 11:4 TPT
He received the news about Lazarus. He processed it. And decided the best possible outcome was to wait.
Every miracle, every teaching, every action - served a purpose. He was intentional and every response contributed towards the fulfillment of His mandate.
Nothing was left to vibes and chance.
At the pool of Bethsaida famed for having magical / healing properties, Jesus met a man who had been there for 4+ decades. He healed with words. Ever wonder why He didn’t ask the man to wash? So no one could attribute his healing to the assumed properties of the water.
But at Siloam, He first placed clay on the man’s eyes then told him to wash. This was a pool used for ceremonial washing at the temple entrance. You do not get yourself extra dirty before heading there. It was symbolic and revered. Yet Jesus got a man ‘extra dirty’ then told him to wash in that pool on the sabbath day - when there’s a guaranteed crowd. Why didn’t He just use words like He did at Bethsaida?
Jesus also performed a lot of miracles on the sabbath - asking the healed to carry their mats and bags all the way to the nearby temples and present themselves to the priests. Breaking the sabbath and presenting yourself to the custodians and guardians of the sabbath laws? Quite the spectacle.
His point was consistent. I AM - the way, the truth, the life. I AM - the Alpha and Omega. I AM - not your rules, not your beliefs, not your traditions, not your customs, not even the mystical fables you have come to place faith in. It’s all nothing and less than nothing. I AM.
Believers ought to adopt the same mindset and framework. Do not be governed by rules and regulations, customs and systems, sentiments and morals, myths and beliefs. Rather, be governed by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of Liberty, the Spirit of Life - that is anti-religious and anti-sentimental.
What a life!
““Martha,” Jesus said, “You don’t have to wait until then. I am the Resurrection, and I am Life Eternal. Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever. And the one who lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?””
John 11:25-26 TPT
Maranatha!!
Don't fall for the Slovenia, Bulgaria, or Georgia citizenship scam.
The advert is all over Facebook and Google Ads
They have agents who will pick up your calls and tell you that they are going to include your name in an ancestral file and claim you are an undocumented citizen whose grandparents are from these countries
They will ask you to pay in crypto to a Nigerian account or ask you to pay to one strange individual's account through wire transfer
There is no 30,000 Euros path to a second passport
They will promise you free higher education for your children and access to many nations through a second passport
Don't fall for it
Ads promising European residency or citizenship for around €30,000 flood social media, targeting hopeful entrepreneurs, families, and global citizens. At first glance, these “affordable” schemes, often promoting residency in Slovenia, Romania, or Bulgaria, seem enticing. However, these €30,000 EU residency and citizenship offers carry serious legal and financial risks, potentially devastating for applicants.
The High Cost of “Cheap” EU Citizenship
Realistically, legitimate European residency programs, such as those in Malta, Portugal, Greece, or Cyprus, start around €250,000, and with real estate increase to €500,000 or more. Offers at €30,000 are significantly below market standards, immediately raising red flags. Legitimate investment migration programs involve detailed due diligence, proof of investment, integration requirements, and government oversight, none of which come cheaply or quickly.
Red Flags to Watch Out For:
Unrealistically low fixed prices (€20,000-€30,000)
Promises of fast-track processing (often less than 6 months)
Claims of “ancestry tracing” without transparent documentation
Insistence on upfront payments, frequently split into suspicious installments
Best-case Scenario: Losing Your Money
At best, these schemes fail to deliver. Applicants commonly lose their entire payment, often €30,000 or more, with no recourse for refunds. Advertised agents disappear after initial payments, leaving applicants empty-handed.
Victims report online how initial enthusiasm quickly turns to frustration, realizing their funds have vanished without obtaining any legitimate residency or citizenship.
Worst-case Scenario: Identity Theft and Fraudulent Documents
The potential consequences, however, can be far more severe. Applicants risk receiving counterfeit residency cards, visas, or passports. Using fake documents can lead to arrest, prosecution, fines, deportation, and even permanent bans from legitimate immigration programs.
Equally alarming, applicants must provide highly sensitive information, bank statements, passport copies, and medical records, making them vulnerable to identity theft and long-term financial damage.
Personal Data at Risk Includes:
Passport and ID documents
Bank account details and financial statements
Medical records and family data
Confidential personal information for potential misuse
Real Victims Share Warnings Online
Online forums like Reddit and Nairaland offer stark warnings. Users frequently expose fake operators who promise EU citizenship through “heritage tracing,” only to vanish after receiving partial or full payment.
Real comments from victims and informed observers consistently warn that these schemes prey specifically on vulnerable populations who lack reliable information about real residency and citizenship procedures.
