@FelixHagan In New Zealand, a cheerio is universally known to be a specific type of small, red-skinned sausage. They come pre-cooked, and you just heat them up in hot water or in the microwave. They’re served at parties, in a bowl accompanied by tomato sauce.
They taste as good as they look.
“What are the charges?”
“His dog stretched and he didn’t say “Ooh, big stretch!”, your honour.”
[Three jurors start crying. Another one faints]
People in the public gallery start chanting: SEND HIM TO PRISON. SEND HIM TO PRISON. SEND HIM TO PRISON.
I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that a Finnish version of “they're a few sandwiches short of a picnic” is hänellä ei ole kaikki muumit laaksossa. It means “they don't have all the Moomins in the valley”
#MoominsDay
I created the best Zoom video background today. It's a video of the room I'm in and every few minutes, I open the door, see that I'm on a call, and leave.
It's so subtle that only a few people picked up on it during my last meeting.
@MooseAllain Similarly, in NZ we have this simple yet firm rule for the appropriateness of wearing skin-tight swimming togs in public.
If you can see the water: togs.
If you can’t see the water: undies.

@frankturner@CountingCrows Hey Frank, I’ve got a spare seated ticket for ChCh tonight. Friend can’t come so I’m currently heading along alone to see you for the 30th time!
