@girlleadproject kindly offered scholarships on DataCamp that I utilized from 2022 to 2025. In 2025, I got my first Data analyst job, but my ultimate goal was Data science/ML/AI, moreso in healthcare. Late 2025, I got the @refactory_acad 10X scholarship to study DS/ML. Now I'm
So real. I'm still thinking up what my niblings should address me as...Auntie Dr? Dr Aunt Tee? I've yet to find something with the right ring to it but I suffered for that degree and they will acknowledge that hardwork by force 📌😂
On a serious note 📝
📌Cervical cancer is largely preventable yet it continues to affect thousands of women every year.
Safe sex is important but it doesn't fully protect against HPV, the leading cause of Cervical cancer. Get vaccinated, screen regularly and encourage others to do the same.

I’ve been training myself not to prioritize something for someone that they don’t prioritize for themselves.
If you don’t care, then neither do I.
If you think something else is more important, then I agree.
It was all things Data Science and ML this July! Attended my 2nd continental AI/ML conference (Data Science Africa '26) Made acquaintance of so many amazing people including thee Dr Quin (who did a PhD in ML for Neonatology in 2007!), that I'd been working with remotely. Grateful
So, July started in gear. I'm attending as many conferences, webinars, summer schools, etc as possible. My interest in AI for Global Health (and more widely, AI for Social Good) has really been piqued. People are doing amazing stuff out here!
working as a data scientist at an AI Health research lab in malaria risk surveillance, I've been accepted to the DSA 2026 Summer school+workshop, and I'm able to get a few gigs here and there. The journey has just began but I'm proud of how far I've come.
Ooh, this too :) GPU compute access, ayy. The people l know that are attending DSA are very*** serious individuals, mind you. I really should have been doing Zero to Hero: Python and R programming, instead of wasting hours on GirlsGoGames dot com 😂 Okay, at least half the time.
I'm thoroughly enjoying @cohere's ML Summer School. We've covered the fundamentals of a bunch of foundational topics. My key takeaway, though, is that I'm not yet ready to transition into (Agentic) AI 😂 Eh! I'm overwhelmed. Classical ML for the win, for now.

You don't have to date anyone. In fact I'd urge to only date and fuck whom you want, HOWEVER, interrogating your decisions or preferences based on preconceived notions is necessary in order to become a better human being.
i hate group work where i don't get to pick my teammates. HATE. i'm tired of having to pick up everyone's bloody slack. i'm tired of being the one they call for everything, that has to think and strategise through everything. mumenya ahte mumalamu amaanyi! fvck this, i quit
Interns are our primary Drs in all govt hospitals.
A Ugandan who didn't post this on one of their social media platforms is either an irresponsible Ugandan who doesn't mind about what is happening in the country or can afford their private medical bills probably out of Uganda.
@DoreenMugarra After you successfully finish the full 1-year internship, you apply to UMDPC for full registration and then get your actual permanent practicing license.
You can’t skip the internship and still practice legally in Uganda... it’s mandatory.
🩺 ☠️ I have failed to wrap my mind around this issue.
🔥 We have talked about the medical internship issue for 8 months- clearly the government @MinofHealthUG has had ample time to handle it.
🔥 We are instituting bad habits in our young doctors!

Refusing to do internship only puts the ministry at stake not us
MoH scared of the uncertainties, trying to intimidate us with "it's not compulsory, you're delaying ourselves"
There's no expiry day in this struggle as long as we're demanding 4 what is ours

We can’t have nice things because no one thinks beyond their little dreams for a plaza / apartment block + a few trips to Dubai. I truly hate it here 😭😭😭
When I was in Lagos barely eating, my greatest fear was falling sick.
Then one day it happened.
I called my mom, but we both knew the truth: there was no money. I flashed a few friends I wasn’t owing. Nothing.
So I told my neighbor Raymond I wasn’t feeling good. He took me to the pharmacy. Malaria and typhoid. The bill was ₦4,000 something.
I told them I’d do a transfer, knowing my account was empty. I tried it, watched it fail, and said “network is bad.”
Raymond quietly paid. Said I could pay him back when the network got better.
The next day my mom sent ₦2,500. I bought a jumbo bread for ₦800 and budgeted ₦500 for a plate of beans each day.
I planned the money carefully so I could eat at least once a day for the three days I needed to take my malaria medication.
After those three days, everything went back to normal.
A week later, my mom sent me ₦5,000 and I was finally able to pay Raymond back.
I think about that a lot. The medication needed food to work, and food was the thing I didn’t have. In this country, hunger and sickness hold hands.
It’s why openChow exists. Sometimes one plate of food is literally part of someone’s treatment.
I hope you guys would accept one day that we’re fighting the patriarchy not just men & you’re not immune to it as a woman. getting mad you’re being told your actions are misogynistic. it’s making you so upset because you’re used to putting all the blame on men. do the work!
