@davidcrawshaw yeah I recently learnt about genetic algorithms and prefix trie, because an LLM told me about them while I was working on a particular problem.
@ID_AA_Carmack I'm guessing this advice doesn't really apply to an indie game dev who just wants to make something on their own, but more to a larger commercial entity that plans to spit out game after game on a strict timeline to a certain degree of quality and polish?
I'm with you, but I've found it to be useful for a few things for me:
* Writing neovim plugins
* Creating TUIs and CLIs for small tasks
* Making scripts that use ffmpeg to automatically edit videos
These all have something in common: I have no fucking clue how to do them. So the quality they output is good from my perspective.
For stuff that I know about, it sucks ass and is way too complicated.
I've recently found that yelling "OVERENGINEERED TRASH" to the LLM over and over, will sometimes get it to cut down its output to something usable
@no1evernose@idonthaveadoor@ausstockchick yeah usually when you resort to insults it means you don't have anything worthy of thought to contribute to the conversation
