It’s important to keep Texas Tech’s history in mind when looking at the Brendan Sorsby situation.
The Red Raiders have NEVER won a National Championship.
They have NEVER even finished a season ranked in the Top 6 of the AP Poll.
They have NEVER spent a week ranked AP #1.
They have ONE 12 win season all time.
No Heisman winners.
When you understand the context it’s easier to see why they are willing to ruin any reputation they had for a guy who placed bets on his own team.
@Emerson2992@LarsenPort1 Indiana being bad (at the time) was public knowledge. To make that argument is to say he had no additional knowledge of game/teams etc than you or I, which is obviously not the case.
I like how nobodys talking about the fact that sending a “sports gambling addict” out on to a football field to play QB is like taking an alcoholic to an open bar at a demolition derby and handing him a helmet and keys.
The Sorsby ruling is truly disastrous. It will be appealed, of course, because one of the fundamental parts of watching a sporting event is believing that it’s as fair a competition as possible — and that no one directly involved has money riding on specific outcomes.
NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.
TBH I don’t really feel any sort of way about Texas Tech. They’re just gaming the system, it’s the same system for everyone. If my team had FU money Id be wanting us to do Fck-You-Stuff, also.
I do hate Texas. F Texas forever 👇👇
