After some thought I’d go with regular member of a winning team.

Why: the end goal ultimately is to be captain of a winning team, starting as captain of a losing team I need to work hard and I need to ensure everyone on my team works hard to get to the goal. Regular member of a winning team I only need to work hard to get to the goal since others on the team work hard already.

It’s tempting to choose captain of a losing team but that’s just hero complex and it makes the end goal of being captain of a winning team harder to reach and more complicated.
