This is your weekly reminder to buy flowers.
You know, buy yourself flowers. Put them in your bathroom so every day, when you wake up, you can see how lovely they are and have a reminder that you care about yourself.
Remind yourself that you can find appreciation and beauty in useless things.
Rigorous no-go theorems for heralded linear-optical state generation tasks:
Algebraic geometry meets design choices in linear optical state preparation for photonic quantum computing. Concretely, we apply the Nullstellensatz Linear Algebra algorithm from algebraic geometry to quantum state generation. The approach can provide definitive no-go results by proving infeasibility whenever a given state-preparation task admits no solution. The underlying idea goes back to one I had many years ago, and it is delightful to see concepts from algebraic geometry proving so useful in this context.
