If Stearns had done nothing except trade for Peralta & sign Weaver/Williams, the Mets by WAR would be ~3 games better & also cheaper. But it's hard to ignore players' impact on each other.

A Nimmo/Soto/Alonso/Benge/Ewing/Vientos/McNeil lineup does not embarrass itself.

@Jolly_Olive They were just so eager to get out of the last two years of Nimmo at 20M per (~5.7 percent of total payrolls they’ve been running) they just had to pay 80M total for 3 years of a 35 year old second baseman coming off a .660 OPS season. Was too good a deal to pass up!
