Seeing his sudden change of heart made a smirk appear on the agent's lips. Lisbon nodded, waiting for Jane to get closer to her.
"We'll go on my car. And, please, try to not make the doctor want to kill you. There's already a dead body to deal."
Jane turned on his heels to look at her in a half smile. Now she had his attention.
"Dr Steiner ?! Well, maybe I can make some time."
The consultant shrugged nonchalantly as he followed her, ready to go.
"Well . . . That CSI will be coming. That one that you think it's creepy. I thought you'd not miss a chance to bicker with him, but seems like I'm wrong."
Lisbon shrugged, giving him a last look before going to her office.
"If you change your mind, I'll leave in 5 minutes."
"Mhm, brain needs food, don't it ?"
Jane smirked, adjusting his posture in a smile at her.
"Priority for whom ? The reporters ? Is it someone important ? I don't care, then."
"Are you always hungry?"
The agent sharply commented, resting her hands on her waist. She was a bit more relieved upon seeing him waking up. . . That case waw a hard one, she could sense it.
"Our boss will be on our necks the whole day. Said it's our priority."
"Mhmm, less focus on the body, more focus on the beach. Love the beach!"
Jane smiled, sitting on the couch while stretching himself. Getting up, he opened a smile.
"I could eat some fish and chips."
"Dr. Lecter, I presume."
Offering him a smile, the agent offered her hand to shake. He was a famous name - and was there to help in a case.
Oh. . . If only Lisbon knew. . .
Oh, if only he knew about her. . . Or, better, what if Teresa knew what he was thinking? Well, it was good she didn't.
Looking at him adjusting his position, Teresa pretended to ignore the tsk.
"You seem to be a big authority in here"
She smiled, trying to be gentle.
Her eyes followed the sheriff's movements, as if trying to read what his intentions were.
"Alright, sir. Thanks for your gentleness."
Teresa moved her head in agreement, following his steps towards his car.
"Is there something I should know about this city?"
Used to assholes, Teresa just stared at him, silent. At least, he seemed harmless. . .
She couldn't figure out his accent. Maybe he was from the South and it was a way to be gentle.
"Alright. Thanks for. . . The gentleness."

The agent looked at him for a bit, as if trying to make something of his behavior.
"I heard you found someone who knows about our victim. Can you call them to testify?"
The agent listened, eyes going to his hand to his smiley eyes. Even if she tried to deny it to herself, Jane's smile always made all her heart beat a little differently. . .
"Are you sure they'll be there?"
Lisbon was now a bit more mellow, thanks to his attempts

Stopping abruptly, he smiled at her and shrugged as he waved one hand in the air.
“Yep.”
He agreed. That was very clever, he admitted and didn't really saw harm —— after all, the person was already dead. —
The way his eyes darted to her lips, at first, made Lisbon feel annoyed. Was he another sleazy man staring at her like a piece of meat?
She was read to feel angry. . . Until she noticed he was reading her lips. Instantly, Teresa felt guilty and cleaned her throat,
