It's important to build on your strengths but it's more important to identify your limitations and find a solution for them.
You can only grow as far as your biggest constraint will allow. All the other work you do will be worthless without removing that constraint first.

If you're actively maintaining your backup plan/exit strategy, you're not invested enough in your Plan A. Put everything else out of your head, use that brain power to propell you in the direction you actually want to go.

Shuffling saved me. It changed my life and brought me so much joy. I love being able to share that with others through classes, and it will never make sense to me that dancers out there hate that and want me to stop.
I will never understand all the bullying I've gotten from Melbourne shufflers for working my ass off to make a living doing what I love. Even people I thought were my good friends turned on me when I started charging money for classes.
None of them have talked to me about the veteran shufflers from Australia that I've interviewed to educate myself (some were there right when shuffling started!). None of them have been to my classes and heard me teach the history and differences between styles.
