IMO the right way to build R&D capabilities is thru a very small number of curious, enthusiastic, technically brilliant generalists.
Having huge teams of specialists creates an enormous amount of organizational friction.

The word "content" (to refer to things people create) is characteristic of the cultural climate set up by the tech industry. It is container-centric. Content is what you fill your distribution platform with.
With apologies to my @hiddendoorco colleagues @hmason, @Slapworth, and @fossilosophy, who have to read slack messages that I claim are thoughtful, but which they could reasonably just call "long".
I couldn't have just thought a bit and then fired off a response. Writing the response was a hook to really think through the thing at hand. The neat thing is that at the end of this little ad hoc design process, I now also have a very thoughtful response.
