@kilohearts I really like it but I’m going to cancel it because a year’s subscription doesn’t give me any more benefits than someone purchasing things on Black Friday. Unfortunately that doesn’t feel like good loyalty. 😔
Sucks that if you get a @kilohearts subscription your are lured in with "getting $100 credit per year". Then comes black Friday they give $100 off but you can't use the credit you've accumulated. So I've already spent $140 and get exactly same discount as someone that hasn't 😭
didn't see the small print!! irony is I got the subscription just before last year's black Friday thinking I could combine both discounts together. Sucker, note to self should read small print more often!
I just got a free month for @Telegraph , don’t normally bother with the news and a week in I remember why!! Readers can also comment on articles, most of the comments are by the uk version of truth social members 😢 Glad it was free, won’t be doing that again!
Been having a play with Rust 🦀 and made this Spectrum Analyser audio plugin (not fully finished!). https://t.co/1QZDXt97c3
Quite different to Haskell but still cool you can make VST/CLAP plugins. Had to learn a bunch of DSP concepts, Nih_plug, Iced and Rust but it's doable 😅
@BristowEwan@borraxca I’m coming from being a developer to wanting to learn DSP (recently been learning Rust & https://t.co/0Wpw8coVrT) looks like plugdata will aid in the dsp part but wondering if you had any other sources I could look?

Sorry for sounding elitist, but all the best software engineers I come across end up gravitating towards FP. It often takes them years as a gradual process, but FP solves many problems that OOP struggles with. I wish FP people would stop with the math and category theory though.
This happen to anyone else?
me: I think Y because of X
group/individual: yes agreed
... chat chat chat 30 mins on subject
group/individual: I think Y because of X
🤷♀️ There's 30 mins of my life I won't get back
@TechnoEmpress I really struggle to leave doom eMacs because of magit, buffer/tab switching, snipe, bookmarks.. damn that’s quite a lot and there’s more I can think of. Had a go at Zed but think it’s more intended for people doing vscode -> zed
@effectfully@mpeytonjones@int_index Let’s play devil’s advocate here! Should consideration in growing up also be taken if one is allowing them selves to be offended in the first place? 😈
It’s unlikely the perceived mistake will be put right by attacking the beholder? 🤷
I find it fascinating the amount of content available on complex subjects in Haskell.
Yet when looking for good/basic architectural design patterns for production apps there are so few. 😢
