@il_trumfo@SaveConcessions Can you show a previous example of a goalkeeper's arm being held at the point he was trying to catch the ball that was not a foul?
@DaveLee101@WhistleBlowerDK It doesn't at all, just annoys me when pundits act like this would be the case with footballers yet they are already involved and you see the outcomes. it just shows that no matter who you are or what you have done. The subjectivity in football will always cause controversy.
@grassrootsrefJa@mislav_lu@jamesallcott Everyone thinks they have the silver bullet but don't do their research. PL tried this 4 years ago with the handball law (to mirror UEFA) and it lasted 3 weeks due to uproar. A lot of short memories in football.
After tonight's handball penalty...
A reminder that Roberto Rosetti, Uefa's head of referees, wants there to be a universal application of handball across Europe next season.
This isn't going to fly in England.
We've tried it once and it lasted a whole three weeks.
@andydaviesref@ESPNUK@ESPNFC@espnpodcasts Good article Andy however completely disagree with the Havertz challenge. Khusanov is just stronger and I don't that will be a VAR error by KMI. Fans complain about forensically anaylsing the game, however when it is their team they do exactly this (hypocrisy every week).
@refsupportuk On the DCL challenge, if this was dissallowed, the same people would complain that VAR is too forensic and destroying the game. You can't win, fans will always complain when it's against them, it's guaranteed.
@refsupportuk The consistent hypocrisy of football media. "You can't judge a challenge with a still image", then proceeds to use a still image to fit their narrative.
A hair pull is a red currently, simple as that.
@spurscc@WhistleBlowerDK 100%, however they convince themselves that they have the silver bullet. Newsflash, it doesn't exist. The subjectivity of football will always lead to debate, I dont understand how people can't see that. Challenge system would be the best way to go imo, lesser evil.
@WhistleBlowerDK@JC_AFC Literally one of the biggest complaints is stoppages and time taken for VAR reviews. People have such short memories, i.e Andy robertson Brighton.
@WhistleBlowerDK@spurscc Who votes for the high bar abd Referee's Call? The PL clubs. It's funny how fans forget this continuously. If you want to go back to even more stoppages then ask your club to vote for a lower bar in summer. People will complian either way, it doesn't matter at this point.
On Danny Welbeck's second goal for Brighton against Liverpool.
This time it was Liverpool's turn to concede a goal when the attacker was onside due to the in-built 5cm tolerance level.
@grassrootsrefJa@5liveSport@alanshearer Why are the BBC allowing him to spew this stuff unchallenged, why is the host not providing the facts that refs are assessed in the exact on their on field decisions, like pre-VAR. The supposed pantheon of British broadcasting is the #1 instigator of ref abuse in this country.
Remember:
Clear and obvious is subjective. Decisions will always divide opinion.
That means absolute consistency is a delusion. Your subjective bias will always affect you.
Ultimately you want things to go for your team.
@BBCMOTD And now let’s get the other side of the story by interviewing a referee… Or maybe not. I can’t think of any other BBC output that does not even try to provide editorial balance
