attitude towards the newly elected MLA today was disgusting and cheap. Her subsequent interviews justifying her behaviour are even more silly. Where is the protocol for the order in which Kuththu Vilakku has to be lit written down?

The MLA is a new mother. In one of her interviews the Mayor is seen complaining that the MLA (a nursing mother) arrived 15 minutes late and they waited! Where is the empathy for a fellow working mother? This lady doesn't deserve to continue as Mayor of my city!

The Corporation built the school. The Corporation organised the event. The Mayor attended as the head of the civic body.

As for grace, it would have been far more graceful for the TVK MLA to participate in the function and familiarise herself with the proceedings.

Storming out, creating a media spectacle and then peddling the absurd claim that the Mayor attended the Corporation's own event only after learning about the MLA's participation is disgusting.

A basic fact that the Mayor heads the Corporation seems to have escaped her understanding.

Then again, victimhood politics has been TVK's preferred playbook from day one.

Perhaps before lecturing the Mayor on grace, Congress should spend some time teaching its new found ally TVK friends how public institutions function.
