There was apparently a tornado in Alaska on July 4th, and it was fully condensed, too! That's incredibly, and I mean incredibly, rare. I honestly can't recall seeing a fully condensed tornado documented in Alaska before. This footage was captured near the Alpine Creek Lodge outside of Cantwell, Alaska.

@EthanKerr2003 my tired take after my 8.5 hr shift is dynamics are fairly weak most of the time, especially PA and NY. hodographs today didn’t look great at all. it’s also very hard to get any sort of eml that far east and steep enough lapse rates to support “textbook supercells”

From 2013-2024, so-called “weak” tornadoes (EF0-EF1) in the United States were responsible for 29 fatal events, more than 80 injuries, and 35 lives lost.

A lower rating doesn’t necessarily mean low impact, these tornadoes still cause real damage and real tragedy.
