Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul says $200 million isn't as much money as athletes think
"I got guys, 22, making $200 million over the next four or five years. I'm constantly telling them that's not a lot of money based upon where you're starting, because you're starting from zero"
"How do we understand how to compound that. Everyone's not going to play into their 40s. They're done when they're 33. They're paying a 51–55% tax"
"Not to mention jeans today, the ones they want that they're buying in excess, which they probably don't really need, cost $2,000"
"No athlete can afford to fly private all the time, yet we see so many athletes on Instagram flying private"
"I fly Delta. I cannot afford to fly private, and that's okay with me. I'm just trying to get where I'm trying to go to make the money. I'm not trying to spend the money"
"The times I do fly private, you will never see it on Instagram because it's not for show"

Rep. Ro Khanna explains “the sticking point” of the government shutdown: Emergency Medicaid for Illegal immigrants
Chamath:
“Ro, the argument on the other side says that the tax credits and the healthcare subsidies will largely go to folks that are here illegally.”
“Can you confirm or debunk that?”
Rep. Ro Khanna:
“First of all, it's a very small portion of people that we're talking about. So, 90% is not anything to do with those who are undocumented.”
“That's just the math, right? So we can argue about the 10%, but we have in this country something called Emergency Medicaid.”
“What does that mean? If you're undocumented and you show up to the hospital, we will take care of you.”
“I believe that is correct. I don't think if you're undocumented and you show up to a hospital that you should be denied care.”
“Well, who pays for that? We have an Emergency Medicaid program.”
“And I guess if you mean that when you fund Medicaid, when you fund the Affordable Care Act that you're saying, you're funding some of it for undocumented people who are showing up in emergency situations, then yeah, you're funding that.”
“My view of it is that, let's be honest, that's not where the big money and the budgets are.”
“You're talking about a small group of folks.”
“You can argue the cultural point about it. But don't make that the numbers point.”
