This is my grandfather Joe Plant. He worked the pits and was wounded in WW1, The poem extract is how I remember him. This weekend 10 & 11/11 I'll be @BCLivingMuseum reading poems by combatants & civilians from 1914-18 around the site, alongside the costumed interpreters.
