At 11, I attended a career fair with my brother. An expert said, 'In Engineering "EASY" is the toughest stream.' I was confused if I got it wrong. Misunderstood then, realized I chose the same 'EC' specialization just before starting UG.
Someone suggested I should put it here !
When you book a train ticket from IRCTC, there is an option to pay Rs. 0.35 for Insurance.
Many people opt for that insurance and get a form in their mail to fill in their basic details and nominee details but mostly, no one does that.
Did you know that this insurance gives you a cover of 10 Lakh Rupees?
Please fill that in if you're opting for insurance and spread awareness amongst your family members so that something like what happened 4 days back at least doesn't hit so many people financially.
Prompted my way through GPT to write a sequel for Lagaan.
Title: Lagaan: The Second Innings
The Story:
As we revisit Champaner, the spirit of Bhuvan's triumph echoes through the fields of this thriving village, two decades after their epic cricket match against the British. Bhuvan (Aamir Khan), now a respected village elder, and Gauri (Gracy Singh), his unyielding pillar of support, have nurtured their village and their son, Vijay (Ranbir Kapoor), with tenacity and compassion. Vijay is the embodiment of his parents' spirit, mirroring Bhuvan's resilience and Gauri's grace, with an inherited love for cricket.
Their tranquillity is disrupted with the arrival of Captain Andrew Russell (Hugh Bonneville), the vengeful younger brother of Captain Russell, determined to reclaim his family's lost honour. He challenges Champaner to a cricket rematch. This time, the game isn't the rudimentary version they once played; it's the modern game of cricket, replete with new techniques, rules, and strategies. Moreover, the stakes are higher - victory would mean freedom from Lagaan for Champaner and its neighbouring villages, but defeat would lead to doubling of Champaner's Lagaan.
Bhuvan agrees, uniting the village to assemble a new team. Old guard Kachra (Aditya Lakhia) and Bhura (Raghubir Yadav) are joined by Vijay, who steps forward to carry his father's legacy.
Quirky characters like Pintu (Rajkummar Rao), Champaner's best dancer with surprising agility in fielding, and Bansi (Diljit Dosanjh), the gentle giant Sikh farmer with immense strength, join the team. Choti (Sanya Malhotra), the feisty daughter of Ishwar Kaka, breaks tradition by insisting on joining the team, becoming the unexpected wicketkeeper. Two more colourful characters join in – Kishan (Vicky Kaushal), the village's resourceful mechanic who uses his understanding of trajectory and angles in his bowling and batting, and Ghanshyam (Ayushmann Khurrana), the village schoolmaster whose intellect makes him a valuable strategist.
Meanwhile, Vijay and Emily's (Emma Watson) love story unfolds through stolen glances, shared laughter, and quiet conversations. Emily tries to teach Vijay the waltz, leading to a whimsical scene where Vijay ends up teaching her the Bhangra. Their love story is not just about two people from different worlds coming together but a shared rebellion against societal norms and expectations.
On the day of the match, Champaner's team, guided by Bhuvan's wisdom and fortified by their diverse skills, faces Russell's professionally trained regiment. The villagers grapple with new rules such as powerplays and leg-byes, which initially confuse them but they gradually adapt. Pintu's nimble fielding and Kishan's calculative bowling take the British by surprise. Choti's unwavering focus behind the stumps and Bansi's fierce bouncers make the Brits realise that the villagers are not to be underestimated.
Captain Russell, however, isn't ready to lose. He resorts to bribing the umpire, promising him a transfer to the scenic hill station of Shimla, which the homesick officer can't resist. Unfair decisions begin to cripple Champaner's progress, and Russell seems close to his revenge. However, Emily can't bear the deceit and exposes her father's corruption.
A fair umpire is instated, and the game resumes. Ghanshyam's wise field placements and strategies outfox the Brits. The game intensifies, culminating in a nail-biting finish, with Vijay on strike for the last ball. With six runs needed to win, Vijay channels his father's spirit and hits the ball high into the sky. The ball sails over the boundary for a six, leading Champaner to another historic victory.
"Lagaan: The Second Innings" weaves together a narrative of love, resilience, courage, and the thrill of cricket. It showcases the evolution of India's beloved sport and the undying spirit of a small village, rekindling the magic of the original.
