It always amazes me when people I don't know AT ALL show up in my inbox and start demanding I do stuff to make their lives easier. And then get all pissy when I don't show up to their hour long meeting about Project Bullshit.
Real ID originally passed 20 years ago and has been hung up since for legal and technical reasons. It wasn't necessary then and isn't now. Thanks, @RepThomasMassie, for pushing against it.
Real ID isn’t needed and won’t stop terrorists from hijacking planes.
Most of the 9/11 hijackers held Saudi, UAE, Egyptian, or Lebanese passports.
Real ID is a national standard and database of IDs that is primarily a tool for control of Americans.
Trump shouldn’t enforce it.
On April 12, 1776, patriots in the North Carolina Provincial Congress adopted the Halifax Resolves, making North Carolina the first colony to call for independence from the British Crown. The Resolves helped set the stage for the Declaration of Independence nearly 3 months later.
North Carolina hasn’t answered to a king since.
Congress has ceded so much of its constitutionally prescribed authority to the president through emergency measures that the federal government now always operates under multiple emergency decrees.
This centralization of power in one branch of government at the direction of one person evades constitutional limits and checks, deprives us of our due representation, eviscerates government accountability, and subjects us to endless abuses.
It’s time for Congress to stop passing the buck. End the era of perpetual emergencies.
Anytime I screw up at work I just remind myself that at least I didn’t text classified detailed war plans in emojis to a journalist on an unsecured third party chat app
I was just told that @eBay is aware of this, but is choosing to not do anything about it. First time I have felt discriminated against since going free.
Gee, maybe I should start my own ecommerce website. What'll I call it...?
The company IT test phishing email program is unfair.
If I click the link, I lose, and I have to take a stupid online class. If I report it, IT loses, but nothing happens to them.
It’s time for IT to have some skin in this game. I should be able to punch one of them when I win
I think it was good that Trump beat Harris, seemingly breaking the torpor hovering over much of American politics and culture for a decade or more (including his own first term, go figure).
But this sort of move--reducing the threshold for currency transaction reports in 30 ZIP codes in Texas and California from $10,000 to $200--is insane. As are, of course, many of his other moves involving reductions in due process for migrants, dumb tariffs, threatening media and politicians who criticize him, etc. And openly busting the budget despite DOGE.
It's a reminder that Trump functions only as a sledgehammer, not a builder of things. The future is more open than it was, but it's up to those of us who believe in free minds and free markets to build it.

Stop punishing people for posting links. This app used to be the place to go to get info on news events. That's much harder when you hide posts with news articles.
In this post, I explain why deporting migrants & foreign students for "pro-terrorist" speech is unjust and unconstitutional, and risks creating a dangerous slippery slope: https://t.co/lwbz1Sywqc
Congress can stop this nonsense right now. Today. In a matter of hours. Before lunch, even. And all it needs is this little-known provision called Article I of the U.S. Constitution. https://t.co/k76JVF38zE
Watch Firefly land on the Moon! After identifying surface hazards and selecting a safe landing site, #BlueGhost landed directly over the target in Mare Crisium. A historic moment on March 2 we'll never forget. We have Moon dust on our boots! #BGM1
As a percentage of GDP, this is the largest tax hike since 1993.
That's the cost of tariffs.
More money is stolen from the pockets of those who build, create, and provide and put it into the hands of the state.
