If we are at the point where the police have lost control and a lynch mob has broken into a hotel housing people and likely children seeking asylum then, I’m sorry, but it’s time to deploy the army. This is a domestic terror threat.
What will it take for political leaders to explicitly call out the Islamophobic and racist nature of the violence we are witnessing across the country?
After the violence caused by the far-right this past week across the UK, it's clear that marginalised communities in this country need our support. We must not remain silent in the face of Islamophobia and racism.
Please sign the petition by @hopenothate to urge MPs to prioritise community cohesion within towns all over the UK.

every other library in north liverpool has permanently closed or had its hours halved because of austerity. spellow was more than a library, it was a warm, safe place for the community. for vulnerable people to access services. to get food bank vouchers!
an unconscionable loss
A riot is not a protest.
A racist is not an activist.
A thug is not a patriot.
Far right extremism is precisely that.
Words matter.
Why are some in the media refusing to use them accurately?
We need to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the one and only @HackneyAbbott.
Congratulations to the new MOTHER OF THE HOUSE OF COMMONS: The longest serving female member of parliament.
I’m voting the Tories out on Thursday, I was alone in a ward after a cancer operation during covid restrictions, they couldn’t operate for 7 weeks as per the covid rules and the cancer cyst burst inside me. They partied as I lay without a visitor for ten days.
So many vignettes of a rotten government - but this one, for me, is the worst. A health secretary, in a global pandemic, groping his aide when he should have been working. Simply disgusting.
