Families across the country are struggling to afford the basics like food and rent. The Children's Society fight for local councils to get the funding they need to support families in crisis. On a local level, they have campaigned so care leavers would be exempt from council -

It is essential to recognise that the provision of support by 'The Children's Society' can change the lives of these vulnerable children for the better.

This includes, but is not limited to, children in care, migrant children and children who have been subject to sexual exploitation. I see first-hand the effects that such experiences have on a child’s learning, development and ultimately their whole future.

The charity works to change the systems that are putting children in danger.

Working in a SEN school, I support the learning of children who are subject to effects of neglect, abuse and exploitation.

tax up to the age of 25. This means that when these young people start living independently, they aren't faced with overwhelming bills. Instead, they have time to get a job, start managing their money and build a future filled with hope and away from poverty.
