@bbctms such a shame about the weather. So many youngsters at The Oval today. What about SCCC doing something to give them a ticket for next year’s Test Match. We really want to encourage youngsters to enjoy the brilliance that is Test Match cricket!
@ExpediaUK please can you help me? I have been double charged for a hotel booking. The website has the booking but the virtual agent says it doesn’t exist. I asked for a call but this is ignored. I called but it cuts me off saying booking doesn’t exist. Help please!
4/4 Q5 What is the future for our public finances given the size of Government borrowing needed to cover the costs of covid-19 and context of the once in a generation macro-economic shift we are now experiencing?
3/4 Q3. How are we going to tackle the inequalities in our nation that covid-19 has, once again, highlighted and is now exacerbating? Q4. Do we need to rebalance our state machinery and devolve more power from central government to local government?
2/4 Q1. Do we need to do more, as a nation, to better manage the big, way of life changing, risks like covid-19? Q2. And given that most of those risks are supra-national, do we need to do more to create the effective international infrastructure that is needed to manage them?
1/4 I have just had the pleasure and honour of delivering the annual lecture for @ActuaryCompany on "lessons to learn, as a nation, from covid-19". Copy of my lecture here: https://t.co/ahjo6kpJtP. It's a wider look at five big questions Covid-19 asks us as a nation....
It was that pretty rare thing on Twitter: a programme that most people seemed to enjoy. So if you missed it, have a listen to the repeat tonight (Radio 4; 9pm) of Across the Red Line in which @mrjamesob and I debate impartiality. Or it's online now: https://t.co/sO0zlcVRfu
@BBCr4today@Alan_Measles@GretaThunberg@GeorgeThePoet@BBCSounds Fascinating array of views. One question: what does the world of Charles Moore look like? He said the BBC "kowtows to diversity": I want to know he meant: I would have loved the interviewer to have asked!
