Solidarity with the Ditto team for being transparent and pushing forward. This situation really highlights how sophisticated social engineering can get in OTC deals, even when you’re using escrow and have solid clauses in place.

To the Bittensor community: when doing large deals or OTCs, it’s worth getting cybersecurity expertise involved to review your verification processes, communication channels, and fund release controls. These amounts aren’t small, so it’s not something to take lightly.

Coldkey has not been compromised.

Our escrow party on an OTC transaction was socially engineered in an extremely elaborate scheme.

This resulted in sending funds before our side received the expected amount. At this stage, it appears to have been the result of a social engineering attack there is no other exploit risk.

We are actively working with law enforcement and ecosystem participants to resolve this immediately.

To clarify, no systems were compromised. The issue appears to stem from them being socially engineered into taking the wrong action.

We will share further updates as appropriate.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.

The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.

Access to all other Claude models is not affected.

Until today, training massive Sparse Mixture of Experts models meant you needed a centralized warehouse of GPUs connected by incredibly expensive fiber optics. Parallax mathematically solves this. By using local surrogates and asynchronous updates, it allows the pre training of frontier MoE models across fragmented consumer hardware over standard internet connections.
