The Glasgow Imaging Network (GIN) Symposium is back for 2025!
GIN will take place on 4th April 2025 at the Mazumdar-Shaw Advanced Research Centre (ARC), University of Glasgow. For more info and to register and submit your abstract visit our Eventbrite: https://t.co/LBWrnntj2F
Hi all, we are now on bluesky. Give us a follow @glasgowimaging.bsky.social so that we can start building our network up again over there🔬
Also keep your eyes peeled for upcoming info on the GIN symposium 2025 👀
Fun highlighting this preprint! Fercoq (@FFercoq), Cairns (@_Gemmaaaa_) and colleagues have used new imaging approaches to reveal striking effects of pre-metastatic breast cancer & G-CSF treatment on adhesiveness of neutrophils in the lungs:
Pre-metastatic neutrophilia and lung-metastatic breast cancer: a one-two punch to the lungs 🫁
@Simon_J_Cleary highlights work from the Carlin Lab (@BAIR_Head).
“The methods developed for use in this study are impressive…”.

Join us for our annual 24 hour gaming stream as we raise money for @myawareUK
Myaware is the only UK charity dedicated to the support of those living with myasthenia, a rare autoimmune disease for which there currently is no cure.

My first first author preprint from my PhD work is out today on arXiv! 😁@DrBrianPatton and I have developed an image-based method of aligning multichannel infinite-conjugate microscopes using a ray transfer matrix analysis model https://t.co/4CStRzF4Xa
We hope this alignment method will be particularly useful for open-source microscopy systems which often have compact designs resulting in difficulties using traditional alignment methods, such as autocollimators and shear plates, or where additional hardware isn't available.
