@CalMac_Updates The replacement vessel called at Rum this morning but wouldn’t take foot passengers. Please can you confirm what the plan is to get us all off the island? Thank you.
@ManuelZannone I don’t really use twitter any more, but… that does look like it could be. If the blobs are completely unchanging over time, it’s probably debris on the sensor window. If they appear/increase on a timescale of minutes, it’s condensation. Good luck…
Has anyone else had problems with condensation on sensors of Andor cameras e.g. Zyla? We have had two cameras fail in this way, and are being told this is expected and normal, and told that it is standard that we should pay for a regular and a very expensive "service" of camera.

Great chat with an enthusiastic undergrad student after my numerical physics lecture. Asked me how I learned to program and I described self-teaching C++ in my bedroom as a teenager. "So what was it like when everyone was phone phreaking and things?". Dude, I'm not THAT old 😂
It's the first day of the undergraduate term, and the sump has dropped out of the air compressor in my research lab - oil everywhere. How's YOUR monday going!?
Microscopists - does anyone know of any literature on the saturation limits for AlexaFluor dyes? Similar to this excellent paper that quantified the behavior of GFP https://t.co/0NcI6LEkzK.
