Anybody who grew up or lives in New York can identify the New York in Zohran. His campaign was powered by a profound authenticity, an irrepressible love and respect for the city. He also carries with him a set of political, cosmopolitan values that connects three continents. In an age of exclusivist nationalism, his victory is not that of a globalist, but a true New Yorker.
Seeing too many folks focused on legality of these strikes as if manufacturing Congressional consent is a barometer of morality.
Congress voted for war in Iraq. Congress voted for AUMF—which expanded significant military force in Afghanistan.
