There are 2 players in MLB history to hit a leadoff HR, a walk-off HR that same game, and then a leadoff HR the next game:
Pete Crow-Armstrong: 8/17/26-8/18/26
Randy Arozarena: 8/22/26-8/23/26
The most unbelievable baseball coincidence of all-time.
@DOM_Frederic KB short peak was fantastic and MVP worthy, but probably not as good as Pete now. I was too young to say I truly “watched” Sosa. I literally watched him play but was too young to really take it in or appreciate so for the sake of personal ranking he isn’t a cub I “watched”
@DOM_Frederic We’re at the point I dont treat that last sentence as hyperbole anymore. Arrieta cy is one of the most dominant pitchint seasons of all time, likely will be when i die too. I got to see that cub, and im not sure i put Pete above him yet.
@smallestJohnson@Shawn8603750297@AureliusLV Ik it’s hyperbole but a man 3x stronger than me or most people also would be hilariously slow and immobile. They’d be unconscious in under 30 seconds. But that’s just understanding what 3x means lol
@smallestJohnson@Shawn8603750297@AureliusLV Spoken like a man that hasn’t properly felt or learned about the multiplying force that is leverage. Jokingly being a dickhead, I get your point and agree to some extent, but super important is learning to use leverage to create an output much greater than you can creat otherwise
Zeitlin’s is gone after six years.
Their Lincoln Park flagship didn’t even last a year.
“The high cost of opening and operating our flagship store could not be sustained.”
Just another casualty of Brandon Johnson’s Chicago.
We’ve seen this before.
And the list keeps growing.
@theblockspot Nothing wrong with being new to following a sport. You’ll catch up, maybe just avoid saying things like this publicly until you’re caught up.
@cornoisseur The people responsible for chasing out most of the largest tax payers in the state don’t want more property taxes and jobs for their citizens? I don’t believe you.
The NFL Hall of Fame Game had 7 million viewers.
That's more than the most-viewed MLB game this season and any NHL game last season, including the Stanley Cup.
@AureliusLV No hate, just saying deterrence is a big benefit of visibly knowing how to handle yourself. Be large and athletic on top of that and you’ll avoid most fights, or at least intimidate your aggressor to the point they cool down and give up quickly.
@AureliusLV 1 year training BJJ and some form of striking consistently and you’ll be able to handle yourself just fine. I say this in reply to a video of extremely basic striking training terrifying thousands. Like when people see a leg kick and shit their pants 😂
Isn’t it weird Kyle Schwarber can hit 40 + HR and his team doesn’t automatically win 100 games? Cal Raleigh hit 60 and Seattle won 90 games in the regular season. Mark McGwire hit SEVENTY and the Cardinals went 83-79.
Almost like hitting HRs is only one way a baseball player contributes to winning.
That’s the entire point of WAR. Hitting matters. A LOT. But so do baserunning, defense and the position you’re capable of playing.
A home run is obvious. Taking away a double in the gap isn’t. WAR tries to put a run value on BOTH.
