I just built my first Web3 backend project in one week. 🧵
Most people know how bank alerts work. Your bank watches your account, and the moment money moves, you get notified.
I built the exact same thing but for the blockchain. 👇
✨ Partnership Announcement! ✨
Dextopus is teaming up with @KyberNetwork to enable you to deposit, swap & withdraw any token on any chain into your favorite dAPPs.
We’re on a mission to simplify cross-chain settlement, making web3 easier to interact with✨
Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) has secured over $25 million in funding from a16z, Paradigm, Winklevoss Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Cypherpunk Technologies, Maelstrom (family office of Arthur Hayes), Chapter One, David Friedberg, Haseeb Qureshi, Mert, Balaji and others.
If you aren’t familiar, Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) is the team formerly known as Electric Coin Company (ECC), the group that launched Zcash, and the creator of @zodl_app. The name is new, but our team has been building Zcash for a decade.
A couple of years ago, my team and I set out to change the trajectory of Zcash with an uncompromising focus on the user experience for shielded ZEC. We released Zodl (then called Zashi) and have never looked back.
The release of the normie-friendly wallet was the first step. Then came integrations with partners like Flexa for retail spending and Keystone for cold storage. Most recently, we worked with the NEAR team to unlock ZEC swaps through NEAR intents.
It worked. The proof is in the numbers. The wallet has driven adoption of the Zcash shielded pool by over 400%, and facilitated more than $600M in ZEC swaps since October.
Now is the time to build on that momentum and accelerate. In addition to Zodl, we are building Zallet, a full node wallet that will also underpin new desktop software. Ultimately, we intend to deliver a private, decentralized financial system as an alternative to legacy institutions.
This funding allows us to bring these ambitions to life, without relying on Zcash dev fund grants to get there.
I’m grateful for these investors who are partnering with us. These are exciting days for the ZODL team and Zcash more broadly.
We’re in the dawn of a new era.
We will get ZEC in the hands of billions.

Onward.
"We are pleased to offer you the position of Software Engineer. After reviewing your performance during the selection process, we believe you will be a valuable addition to our team"
We created a deposit widget that allows teams on @0g_labs accept any token from their user & consolidate's it into the preferred token of the dapp.
This allows users pay with any token they have, we do all the work that's needed to convert the tokens to what the dapps support.
We hired a backend guy recently who didn’t know half the buzzwords.
No Saga, no CQRS, shaky on K8s. On paper, easy reject.
Then we gave him a real prod-ish bug:
sporadic 500s, p95 spikes, only on one endpoint.
He did 3 things:
1. Asked for repro + timeline. “When did it start? What changed? Any new feature release?”
2. Cut the problem space. Logs first, then metrics, then a single failing request ID.
3. Formed a hypothesis, tested it, wrote down what each result would mean.
Found it in 25 mins:
connection pool exhausted from one code path leaking retries + no timeout.
I’ll take that over memorized concepts anyday.
This is what people don't get right, companies hire for fundamentals + debugging. You can teach patterns. You can’t teach calm thinking under failure.
