Earlier today, our hearts were shattered once again as we laid 27 innocent souls to rest. They were among the 30 people brutally murdered in Naridon village, Southern Kaduna, in yet another senseless attack. The remaining 3 victims had already been buried a few days earlier, their families forced to say goodbye in pain and silence.

There are moments when words fail, when grief is too deep to describe. Today was one of those moments. Tiny graves stood beside larger ones. Mothers wept for their children. Children cried for parents who will never come home again. Wives embraced the lifeless bodies of husbands who had left home expecting to return before sunset. The cries of broken families echoed across the burial ground, yet it seemed the world could not hear them.

The Bible says in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Today, countless hearts were crushed. Entire families have been left with nothing but memories. Homes have become empty. Dreams have been buried beneath the soil alongside their loved ones.

Perhaps the most heartbreaking part was not only the burial itself, but the silence of those entrusted with the responsibility to protect these communities. Out of all the elected and appointed government officials, only the Councillor representing Kamaru Ward was present. No governor. No senator. No member of parliament. No commissioner. No meaningful government delegation. Not even representatives were sent to stand beside grieving families.

Think about that for a moment.

Thirty lives were taken. Thirty human beings created in the image of God. Thirty stories cut short. Thirty families forever changed. Yet those in positions of authority did not consider it important enough to simply show up and mourn with their own people.

The Scriptures remind us in Romans 12:15, "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." Today, those who mourned were left to mourn almost alone.

How painful it must be for these widows, these orphans, and these elderly parents to wonder if the lives of their loved ones mattered at all. To bury your family is already unbearable. To feel abandoned by your own leaders while doing so is another wound altogether.

Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." We pray that God Himself will be the comfort these families did not receive from those who should have stood with them.

The blood of the innocent continues to cry out from the ground, just as the blood of Abel cried out before God in Genesis 4:10. God sees every tear. He hears every cry. He knows every name of those whose lives were violently taken.

Please do not let these victims become just another statistic. They were fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, neighbours, and friends. They laughed, they prayed, they worked hard, and they dreamed of tomorrow. Today, those dreams lie buried beneath freshly turned earth.

Pray for the people of Southern Kaduna. Pray for the grieving families. Pray that justice will not remain silent forever. And pray that one day, no family will have to gather around another mass grave simply because they chose to live in their ancestral homeland.

May God comfort every broken heart, defend the innocent, and bring justice to those who have suffered. Amen.

A Humble Prayer Request from the Mission Field

Dear beloved brethren in Christ,

If you are reading this message today, I ask you with all my heart to pause for just a moment and whisper a prayer for me, my team, and every missionary and evangelist who is tirelessly proclaiming the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, especially here in Northern Nigeria.

Every day we walk into villages where fear has become a way of life. We have comforted widows whose husbands were murdered for their faith, prayed with children who have become orphans overnight, and stood beside believers who have lost everything except their hope in Christ. Many times we travel knowing that we may not return home. Yet we continue, because the love of Christ compels us.

There are nights when the sound of gunfire echoes through our communities, and there are days when the burden feels almost too heavy to carry. But in those moments, we remember the words of our Lord:

> "I will never leave you nor forsake you." — Hebrews 13:5

That promise gives us the strength to keep going.

Please pray that the Lord will surround us with His divine protection, fill us with unwavering courage, and grant us His grace and mercy as we continue to preach His Gospel. Pray that every missionary on the frontlines will remain faithful, joyful, and steadfast, no matter the cost.

The enemies of the Gospel may try to silence us through persecution, violence, and intimidation, but they cannot stop the work of God.

As the Apostle Paul declared:

> "The word of God is not bound." — 2 Timothy 2:9

By His grace, we will continue to carry the Good News to the ends of the earth until every heart has the opportunity to hear the saving name of Jesus Christ.

Please do not forget us in your prayers. Your prayers strengthen weary hands, encourage discouraged hearts, and remind us that we are not standing alone.

May the Lord bless you abundantly for remembering those who serve on the mission field.
