Why? The hobby evolves FAST—newer games bring better accessibility, streamlined rules, innovative mechanics, & higher production quality. Many "games like Scrabble with [mechanic]" queries want fresh twists, not just 1930s/80s staples.

Real example: I described a word tile game with one-tile-per-turn + inserting into existing words. Shenanigrams (2023) was the perfect match, but it only surfaced after I named it—classics like Upwords/Lexicon came first due to recency lag.

Most hobbyists (esp newer players) would love recency-first discovery. It surfaces readily available, modern gems without burying them.
