Headlines suggesting that (categorically) Hasina's red passport has been revoked by the interim government are misleading. The government has decided to cancel all diplomatic (red) passports, including those issued to former ministers and members of parliament (MPs). Anyone with a diplomatic passport who wishes to obtain a new passport must first surrender their diplomatic or red passport, after which an ordinary passport will be issued according to the rules.
