@vxunderground Assuming this ain't satire, could add a fast lane where subscribers get the new hot stuff a few days earlier than the rest. Everyone gets access eventually, just those that pay get first dibs fresh out of the oven.
Good point actually
Isnt more about little say and more about how everyone has their own idea how to organize a frontend which may or may not make it harder to understand how the whole loop flows
I've had frontends that were passed down a chain of developers and had 3-4 different architectural styles, or attempts of them coalesced into a single project, was a nightmare
Moronic take on shallow grounds.
The issue is the fact it makes it too easy. It promoted devs to be lazy with their implementations to just ship features and as a result you have slow bloated applications that take forever to render.
V8 is fast, but it ain't when you're choking the engine with thousands of draw calls a second.
Electron might use little ram at idle but not when devs stuff it full of features and poor implementations, discord as an example touts itself as an app for gamers but the app itself causes significant slowdowns in games, leaks ram and doesn't even work all that snappily.
Consumers want speed and devs are justifying slop to deliver products that have a baseline of frustration associated with them instead of delivering high quality software.
Also lowkey all the electron apps that have came out are slop or shills, y'all didn't make anything useful, or you reinvented the wheel on older functional apps.
The tragedy in this is no retroactive enforcement on previous titles, the titles most people dont want to die are already under the mercy of the developers.
On the bright side newer generations will see their childhood games remain always playable
California State Assembly passes the 'Protect Our Games Act'
"games released after January 1, 2027, must provide at least 60 days' notice before terminating service [...] and ensure users can continue accessing the game (providing an alternative version or a patch) or refunds."
Realistically, people need to stop giving out freebie work to these companies and charge up front for access to vulnerabilities.
It's evident they do not appreciate the work of talented hard working professionals trying to do good, thus it's only ethical to now turn the tables so they can waste their own time instead.
You don't wanna pay up for a potential 9.0 CVE walkthrough? It's alright you can wait a month and get it for free alongside the rest of the internet.
‼️ After the MSRC blog post about Nightmare-Eclipse, researchers are coming forward with their own MSRC horror stories.
The response from the security community isn't going Microsoft's way. As they’re not backing Microsoft.
Gabriel Landau, a well-known Windows security researcher, says he reported a Device Guard bypass with a 90-day window. MSRC told him it met their bar and they'd fix it, then asked him to hold disclosure for extra months. He agreed on the condition they issue a CVE. They patched it silently, decided after the fact it "didn't meet the bar," and never issued the CVE. In his words: "MSRC strung me along for a few extra months to keep me quiet, then broke their word."
Another researcher, rootsecdev, says he responsibly disclosed a legacy-auth flaw that allowed password spraying while avoiding smart lockout. Five months later, MSRC replied that it "doesn't meet the bar for servicing," silently fixed it, and closed the case.
Microsoft's post was meant to defend their coordinated disclosure policy. Instead it became a thread of researchers explaining why they've stopped trusting their process.
Being an adult is also being debuffed in putting time into online friendships with big timezone gaps, there's a lot of cool people that I would pour my attention into to foster meaningful connections, but they sleep when im free and are free when i sleep or work, pain
