Unpopular opinion:
I don't want to see technology evolve any more. I hate that everything needs an app. I hate scanning a QR code just to see a menu. I hate creating an account for every thing. I hate that appliances, light bulbs, cars all want to connect to Wi-Fi.
If anyone is wondering how not updating this app since it was twitter is going: pictures display as links, I can’t post replies, I can see the number of QTs but not what they actually say, and I approximately 75% of DMs never show up. But at least I got that bird.
Men will be like, “women just aren’t good leaders,” and then call their wives 7 times from the grocery store because they can’t find the items on the list *she* made.
But sure, women can’t handle leadership.
So if I purchase a DVD and digitize it, that’s copyright infringement. But if an AI company buys my book and scans it to train their system, that’s perfectly fine? Once again, corporations are allowed to play by their own rules. I’m so sick of the hypocrisy.
They’re destroying the books.
They’re destroying the museums.
They’re prosecuting the scientists.
They’re cutting down the forests.
They’re destroying the planet.
Farmers are reporting that data centres are destroying their bees. I don't think people understand how important this is. Bees pollinate about one in every three bites of food we eat. They're far more important to humanity than any Al tool or data centre.
I DO NOT want self-driving cars.
I DO NOT want humanoid robots.
I DO NOT want Al in every app I use.
I want clean water.
I want a stable climate.
I want a habitable planet.
Canada is on fire.
Europe is on fire.
The Amazon is on fire.
Cities are breaking heat records.
Rivers are drying up.
Other countries are drowning in floods.
Storms are getting stronger.
Seasons don’t feel like seasons anymore.
And somehow…
climate change is still a debate.
