A generation who inherited a country where a GED and 40 hours of work would provide a house for a family of four is telling their kids to “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” when the exact same qualifications today won’t buy you a studio apartment.
It’s disgusting frankly
@fatherjohnmisty I introduced myself IRL to you at outside the Mars Bar in Seattle in 2005 and you said "Kevin right? I never forget a Myspacer". I assume you've since forgotten sadly. You played a song about a "great escape". Damien played his song Hoquiam for the 1st time
What a stupid thing to say. "Obeying" is for A) for children to do, assuming their parents/elders have their absolute best interests in mind B) For citizens with respect to laws that are fair and just. I can't think of a single other situation where "obeying" is appropriate
There should be 0 hesitation when asked the question do you obey your husband.
Why are women willing to obey their boss but not the man they choose to make actual children with?
So gross. I don't care what religion it is - people should not have elevated status because of their "holiness". They will abuse their power *every* time
@PastorMark though, he's the real deal. You can tell by the feeling you get when you're at his church. His stuff is on You Tube as well if you're not in Scottsdale, AZ. Highly recommend him if you’re interested.
@davidfowl Congrats on the promo! Any advice for a 39yo L62/63 who meandered a bit in life but is serious about progressing now that I'm more focused and have a family?
Far fewer jobs should require a college degree. And there should be a way to test out of a BA degree. If the test was sufficiently challenging, it could be a much better indicator to employers as to who the the best hires really are (not just who grew up the wealthiest)
