@_Ben_in_space@kraitcs@garrafev You guys have go to be trolling because nothing in modern food science supports these asinine claims that refrigeration is bad and the cuticle is all that is needed.
@leighmani12@angry_yuuri@Fermentado_@smcskill@garrafev And like people keep attempting to convey to you is that fecal matter and nesting debris are NOT material to be found on commercial US eggs. Ambient bacteria is going to be on the dried pasta as well.
@leighmani12@Genericktag@Fermentado_@smcskill@garrafev This sounds like contamination ocd at this point bc commercial grade eggs in the us are powerwashed and pasteurized, meaning the bacteria present isn’t much worse than what’s coating your phone.
@CARPincho8696@bananabittyb@kraitcs@garrafev Semi-related btw- warning you the idea that cuticles are good for preservation and sanitation is outdated and can be dangerous. Salmonella can be present regardless, and eggs degrade within about a week only relying on the cuticle (instead of washing/refrigerating)
@CARPincho8696@bananabittyb@kraitcs@garrafev Under a post with half the comments reacting in horror and assuming people in the us put feces covered eggs with other food, simply because nobody cleans their food anymore apparently
@focussona@kraitcs@garrafev This is a myth and not supported by science. Cuticle protection alone allows eggs to degrade within a week from AA to B, where proper washing and refrigeration allows them to keep at AA grade quality for up to 15 weeks. Salmonella can be present regardless.
@CARPincho8696@bananabittyb@kraitcs@garrafev That’s such a myth. The cuticle dries up and its efficacy declines rapidly. Just wash your shit eggs before cooking them good god. No point in accusing everyone else of putting food in “shit water” when you’re the one who refuses to clean ur food
