In 2017, a 7-year-old boy named Izyan “Zizou” Ahmad asked Roger Federer at a US Open press conference:
Could you keep playing long enough so I can face you when I turn pro?
Federer smiled and basically promised to try.
Nine years later, that same kid made his ATP qualifying debut at Indian Wells at age 15.

Proactive thinking in action! 🌟
Our volunteers are stepping up, planning ahead, and working together to create meaningful impact. Every effort today builds a stronger tomorrow. 💙
This Wednesday, we’re taking volunteerism beyond normal.
The drains at Darkuman Junction are completely blocked, causing flooding, heavy traffic, and gradual destruction of the road.
Instead of waiting for someone else to act, we’re stepping up to make a difference.
To get this clean-up started, we urgently need:
🚜 A backhoe to clear the blocked drains.
🚛 A tipper truck to haul away the waste and debris.
We are calling on individuals, businesses, organizations, and anyone who cares about our community to support this cause.
Whether you can provide the equipment, sponsor the work, or connect us with someone who can help, your support will have a lasting impact.
Together, we can restore the flow of the drains, improve road safety, and make Darkuman a cleaner, safer place for everyone.
📞 Please reach out if you can support or partner with us.
Volunteerism is not just about showing up—it’s about creating lasting change.
This morning’s RAINFALL is another reminder that nothing changes until the mindset towards MAINTENANCE changes.
CHOKED DRAINS and neglected ROADS continue to cause FLOODING, disrupting lives and damaging INFRASTRUCTURE.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE is always better than emergency repairs. CLEAR THE DRAINS.
MAINTAIN THE ROADS. STOP THE FLOODING.
Call for Immediate FDA Attention on Fish Handling in Tema Newtown
To the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA),
We are writing to respectfully call for your immediate attention to the way fish is being handled and sold in Tema Newtown. There are growing concerns about hygiene and food safety practices during the handling, storage, and sale of fish, which may pose health risks to consumers.
We kindly urge the FDA to conduct inspections and ensure that all fish vendors comply with the required food safety and sanitation standards. Proper handling, storage, and transportation of fish are essential to protecting public health and maintaining consumer confidence.
Your prompt intervention will help safeguard the health of the community and promote better food safety practices in the area.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
President’s Mahama’s first official political post was in 1996, when he was elected to the Parliament of Ghana to represent the Bole/Bamboi Constituency.
Sir you’ve been an active leader since then and know the flooding crisis is a year in regular crisis that can severely be mitigated by joint human and government effort.
Sir President, the June 3 disaster in 2015, when you were Vice, shows us that we were even lucky today to have faced such extreme rainfall without any mass disasters but quite a number of unfortunate deaths (not comparable to June 3).
However the point remains;
If it is clear that Government can remove all the structures in waterways and the flooding will stop, unless the rainfall is unusually extreme, then why has government failed to do so in its legacy term? Yes you can blame the resistance of the people but the law is clear that the government has the power to demolish in the public interest. So it seems the government sometimes hesitate either because they don’t want to lose political points or that the people who build in these areas are their financiers?
Also why have there have been a lot of expensive dredging projects since your first term 12 years ago with nothing to show for it?
Government shouldn’t blame the people when you’re the Head of the Ghana Armed Forces and all National security agencies to enforce sanitation standards, ensure accountability in dredging projects, refuse permits and prevent building on waterways or drainage systems and punishing those who dump refuse in gutters.
The actions of the people are a reflection of a failing government. Good example is when we see videos of people dumping refuse in gutters but there’s no public announcement that these people were arrested and jailed for that. So it’s clear no one is stopping them unlike better countries like China where these people would’ve been severely punished and shamed to serve as a detriment to others; and we would’ve been glad if these people faced the consequences but innocent children are dying, innocent Ghanaians are dying and innocent workers who pay taxes are losing their cars and properties because you’re not enforcing the laws against Ghanaians who breach them.
It’s the same government officials who are bribed to turn a blind eye to construction projects on waterways and that’s why these wrongdoers can resist the demolition because they know it’s just a weak temporal redress.
Let’s do well in the legacy term to address the core root of this flooding issue. Let’s imagine ourselves to be a developed country like China or the USA and imagine how their government would’ve addressed this flooding issue because we all know the truth; that if China or USA was encountering this problem since 2000 and faced the June 3 2015 disaster, the folding issue would’ve been immediately addressed from the core and eradicated. It wouldn’t be a blame game between the people and the government.
Bottom line:
This story is not about pretending everything is fine. It’s about discipline under pressure:
• Control your mouth
• Control your direction
• Take your problem to the right place
• Stay there until something changes

The African Union has endorsed a campaign calling for the use of a world map that reflects countries' true sizes.
Why doesn't our current world map do that?
This is the level of criminality we're condoning as a nation. This is the what nature of the water being treated at the Plant B site of the Ghana Water Company in Bonsa, Tarkwa looks like. Pure evil.
GALAMSEY IS EVIL AND MUST BE ADDRESSED HEAD-ON
This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.
I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.
To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you 🙏
