@RoyguptaP ( from @shaastramag) well-covered our memorable passphrase research as part of their lead story on system security R&D in India : https://t.co/WQ0HR2suuN
A big shout out to my awesome research collaborators.
Recap: the code/data/paper is: https://t.co/4lbUF6LCPM
We ended up analyzing millions of security issues in the wild and uncover the reasons of why (or why not) the issues get resolved.

In this work we collected tens of millions of issues from Github repositories.
We identified that there are _lot_ of security issues reported by users in repositories which are never tagged as security issues.
Very excited to be in Seattle for attending @SOUPSConference and @USENIXSecurity for the next week.

My interview with IIT Bombay trust lab just is just out.
They did a beautiful job of systematically capturing tales from my past, current and future journey while understanding human factors in digital security.
Thanks @IITBTrustLab !

Thanks @GoogleAI for awarding me and @yixinzouu a Google Academic Research Award.
We will work to design tech for defending emerging adults from scams on platforms like TikTok where content sometimes gets a bit undeserved trust.
Thanks for the support @maxplanckpress, @IITKgp
Help us congratulate the Google Academic Research Awards (GARA) winners. The program will support 95 projects led by 143 researchers that use tech to shape a better future across the globe. Check out the inaugural GARA winners →https://t.co/F3YFCn4Otb

A surprising & little-known results in classical statistics:
mean (μ) and median (m) are within one std deviation:
|μ−m| ≤ σ
For unimodal densities, bound is even tighter
|μ−m| ≤ 0.7746 σ
This beautiful results first appeared in a 1932 paper by Hotelling & Solomons

It seems that the lack of deletion privacy is plaguing Github now: https://t.co/GyhdU9dorf
Actually this is a persistent privacy problem of archival systems (here is our Usenix Security'22 paper defining deletion privacy: https://t.co/fxNzB9SDGr)
