@crimewatchzw For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
— 2 Timothy 4:3-4

@farmingandJesus And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace..
— Philippians 1:6-7
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of his Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long.
We must always take a firm stand against those within Christian circles peddling a cheap form of grace where grace is used only as a cover for sin. Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously, and godly (Titus 2:12).
At the same time, we must also stand just as firmly against those peddling a weak form of grace where the old isn’t really gone, sins aren’t removed quite as far as east is from the west, and burdens are only partially lifted at Calvary. God’s grace cleanses completely, and it is powerful enough to carry repentant sinners through even the most painful consequences of past transgressions.
Tomorrow, I’ll officiate a wedding of two 20-somethings who first met seven months ago.
It’s not too fast when you’ve been intentional in preparing for marriage and know what you want.
1/17🧵In a previous post I wrote generally about how my father, Bob Hartley, who was a major prophetic voice for churches like #IHOP, #Bethel (also #YWAM and harvest rock church), is a complete fraud.
In this thread I will begin to share some specifics.
1/🧵I have never known how to address this publicly, but it has become clear that is time for me to speak up
My dad, Bob Hartley, who has been an influential prophetic figure in both #IHOPKC and #Bethel church is a complete fraud. His prophetic ministry has always been a con.
Yes, I am praying for Israel. But this new war brings up serious theological questions for charismatics.
This is yet another in a long, long, LONG list of globally impactful events in just the last few years that none of the charismatic prophets saw coming.
None. Nada. Zero.
Why didn't they? All these prophets claim to hear from God r-e-g-u-l-a-r-l-y. God tells them where to eat and who to talk to. He tells them people in their audience should give money to them. He gives them words of knowledge about shoulder problems, ringing ears, and sore backs. Sometimes, like with Shawn Bolz, God even gives them people's user names for their social media accounts and physical addresses (Shawn gets this information from God as he is literally staring down at his smart phone - God's preferred method of speaking to Shawn, apparently).
Why did He not bother to tell any of these "prophets" Hamas was going to launch a deadly attack on Israel and murder scores of innocent men, women and children today? Why did God not tell these prophets this was going to happen so they could give Benjamin Netanyahu a heads up so Israel could have been ready for it? (And they obviously were not) People are not only being killed right now but also brutalized and tortured - women especially. The images and videos coming out of Israel are absolutely gut-wrenching.
So God speaks to these prophets about bum knees, miracle money and user names - but not this?? Really??
And, we would all agree what is going on in Israel is demonically inspired, right? Clearly it is. Well, "Deliverance" ministries are a huge thing right now. These folks claim to be able to cast out demons and even do so in mass. In just a few weeks they (Malachi O'Brien, Isaiah Saldivar, Greg Locke, etc.) are hosting a "mass deliverance" conference in Dallas where they will cast out a whole gaggle of the demonic horde out of hundreds if not thousands of people all at once.
Why in the world aren't they casting the demons out of Hamas?? Malachi O'Brien just posted that "these attacks are demonic" (see highlighted section). If they are, and they can perform mass deliverances, then for Pete's sake start in Gaza! I'd say that's probably the most acute need for a mass deliverance right now.
I am grieved beyond words at what is happening in Israel as I type these words. But this is yet another example of charismatics being long on claims, but short on deliverance (pardon the pun - but it fits).
