For many Kenyan women, the fear of a gynecologist has never been about cold metal instruments or awkward medical procedures. No. Their terror lives elsewhere. It lives in the dreadful possibility that the white coat standing between their knees may be a wolf.
Alice was nineteen when she walked into Mr. Mugo’s office. She walked out vandalized. Her dignity bruised, her boundaries looted, and her phone number safely parked inside the doctor’s contacts.
He examined her, paused and casually asked her out for a drink. She gave him her number out of a dark, paralysing obligation...".comply now... process the violation later."
She later confess she felt “roundly violated.” She never returned to a male gynecologist again..
For Consolata, thirty-five, the 'doctor' told her to lie down and spread her legs. Then he stared...No words.. No reassurance... No humanity. Just a man standing there in professional silence, gazing at her body. She lay frozen, guilt chewing her insides like termites. Society had trained her well.. do not overreact. Don’t imagine things. He is a 'doctor.'
Helen found herself alone in a room with three male trainee 'doctors'. Three. Like a council of elders summoned to inspect a witchcraft pot. They took turns peering into her birth canal with the clinical detachment of tourists inspecting a cave formation. She left the clinic feeling like a shared biology experiment that had failed across multiple science groups.
For Esther—forty-seven, mother of 3, The 'doctor' booked her for examination after examination long after her condition had resolved. He always worked alone. His hands lingered where lingering was unnecessary,,first the breasts, then the vagina.
She tolerated it because sometimes the pain of misconduct feels easier to swallow than the chaos of confrontation. Women learn to endure quietly. It is safer.
It was only when her husband noticed the pattern and insisted on attending the next appointment that the doctor suddenly became a ghost. Appointments vanished. Calls went unanswered. The clinic dissolved into excuses.
This truth nearly detonated her marriage.
Many women tolerate misconduct because of pain, Many avoid clinics because of stories, Many surrender to indignity because society has trained them to distrust their own discomfort. This is a medical horror story that refused to stay buried.
Mr. James Mugo Ndichu, alias Mugo wa Wairimu, was Kenya’s most infamous fake gynecologist,a quack whose criminal creativity could have qualified him for a PhD in deception. His story is disturbing and masterclass in how one determined fraudster can infiltrate, manipulate, exploit, and terrorize an entire healthcare system while everyone else naps.
It erupted in 2015, when the nation witnessed a hidden camera capturing him sexually assaulting an unconscious patient inside his " Prestige Clinic. The video detonated across Kenya like a grenade, exposing a predator and a system sleeping at the wheel, snoring loudly.
James Ndichu Mugo was born on 5th December 1975 in Mutuini Village, Dagoretti. Fourth of six children. He adored his mother, Regina Wairimu, with such performative devotion that he reinvented himself as “Mugo wa Wairimu” to sound authentic, grounded, trustworthy. Sentimentality, after all, is an excellent costume for rot.
He was academically bright. Giuba Primary. Dagoretti High. After KCSE, he disappeared into a fog of lies. Neighbours were told he went to college, family was told he graduated and society was told he was a doctor.
He claimed to have studied Nursing at the University of Nairobi. Records later revealed that he never graduated, never registered, never qualified and that he never earned the right to prescribe even Panadol.1/2

Envy is a spiritual cancer.
It eats you from within.
A jealous man watches another man's discipline and forgets his own.
While you hate, other men are building.
The cure for envy is gratitude and discipline.
Stop hating other men and start working on yourself.
