The purest form of love is consideration. When someone thinks about how things would make you feel. Pays attention to detail. Holds you in regard when making decisions that could affect you. In any bond, how much they care about you can be found in how much they consider you
GIRLLLL life goes on. you might end up a single mom. you might lose your job. you might lose a few friends. whatever it is, you have to pick yourself back up & keep it pushing. never feel embarrassed for the things you go through in life +
i saw an article that read “healing can be so hard when your inner child wants love, your teenage self wants revenge, and your current self only wants peace.”
man, i really related to that.
People don’t realize how much of a privilege it is to be apart of someone’s life and journey until you’re on the outside trying to get in again. Shitting on authentic people is never it.
Trauma survivors often develop this SEVERE aversion to "small talk." Sometimes superficial chitchat even makes us annoyed or angry.
It's nothing personal-- we've just gotten REAL clear on how precious our bandwidth is, & REAL selective on how we're willing to allocate it.
"But it made you strong."
It didn't though. It made them learn everything they could to try and make sure it stopped happening and never happened again. And many times that was not enough. That isn't strength. It's survival mode and it's really costly short and long-term.
Friendships where there’s competition feel unsafe. You notice an underlying feeling of jealousy. You aren’t excited to share important things. And you wonder what’s being said when you aren’t around. Authentic friendships are a safe space of mutual encouragement.
A lot of us are hitting emotional rock bottom. The last few years were nervous system overload. We were numb and our body is finally feeling. Trust this is a deeper layer of healing.
Trauma survivors' "problem" is NOT that we can't endure hard things. We've been enduring hard things for most of our lives-- you don't know.
It's more that our nervous system is exhausted & misfiring when it comes to things that the rest of the world thinks "should" be "easy."
