The older I get the more I understand why people say, “When you love your life, you can’t be around people who hate theirs because they’re always either complaining or comparing.”
If you can’t admit to the times you weren’t a good friend, a good partner, or when you made decisions that didn’t reflect how you wanted to be perceived, then you’ll never grow up
Growing older has a funny way of making simple things more attractive: honest conversations, peaceful homes, genuine friendships, and people who mean what they say.
When you know yourself and live your truth, people can’t weaponize your words/actions against you cause you live in a constant state of accountability.
Nearly everything you commit to, is a journey. Working out. Meditation. Eating healthy. Learning a new sport or language. Loving yourself. Loving someone else. It all takes you down a path where you meet yourself a hundreds times in new forms to gather all aspect of who you are.
Some of you don't realize how much of your personality can disappear when you don’t feel emotionally safe around someone. You become quieter. More careful with your words. Less playful, less willing to be seen. Some connections expand you. Others teach you to disappear.
