@levelsio This should be titled “2nd home ownership”
If you account for paying rent instead of mortgage: $2k rent is paying someone else’s mortgage: that’s $480k across 20 years not accounting for rent inflation. You’re better off buying a home than renting, but after that S&P better
If an episode like this doesn’t already exist, I think it would be a cool callout episode. Who are the people and companies that you guys feel have given the most to the industry?
@syntaxfm have you guys done an episode or talked in detail about who “they” are/is? In web dev, we are given all of these tools and a lot of it feels like just free functionality that someone else is developing. Who is that someone else? Who is funding all of this free stuff?
@lavindir75@MikeSaka7 @Travis_in_Flint Trump did that to trick his supporters into thinking he was on their side, by “giving back”. But when you make more than $1 billion during your presidency from other ventures, it’s an empty gesture
@MikeSaka7 @Travis_in_Flint “Accidentally” lies about “275 million”, and blatantly lied about $200k… makes sense. Also, somebody old as balls probably also has a decent amount of equity saved up over their lifetime, so salary is less important. A $2.75m house isn’t unreasonable for a successful old person
@mbuckbee@wesbos Well I think it looks cool haha, looks like perfect shoulder width apart and I now think most of us are limiting ourselves based on the standard keyboard spacing
@bchesky Offer a significant discount/promo to guests who are forced to rebook last minute due to host cancellation. I book hotels for my most important trips because I can’t risk a host cancellation.
@stolinski Oh, that is a very neat platform and makes much more sense with your hobby background! It’s always neat when languages are developed to meet non dev users. Reminds me of how Lego Mindstorm teaches kids how to program robots with graphical programming
@leelasik @Meagain10411919 Here’s a simpler analogy for you: Your 100nm vs 299nm argument is like arguing that a human can drive a car through a doorway because the human is smaller than a doorway.
The virus isn’t out here rawdogging the air, it’s traveling in droplets larger than itself.
