I 1st noticed red toe tips in glass frogs I photographed years ago, & wondered if it was some sort of injury. I've seen it again since, but never knew the cause. After watching corethrellid midges feed on this glass frog, I now think they were midge bites! Mystery (maybe) solved!

Lepidophyma reticulatum, Costa Rican Tropical Night Lizard, Puntarenas Province, CR. These secretive lizards flatten the curve to the extreme—they have a tiny home size, and rarely encounter each other. This may be why most are parthenogenetic, meaning they are all female!!
