with the rise of (body) fascism, it’s perhaps more crucial that we acknowledge the fact that desire is a violently fascist tool & ppl have been exploring that for a long time. it is not new. and the overemphasis on aesthetic alongside/within fascist regimes is intentional.
instagram doing the public reels liking is the most fascinating feature. there's nothing like finding out a girl you used to drink with in college is publicly liking explicit nazi propaganda at 6 am. it really jolts you awake
reading about Roman slavery and the author says the Roman slaveowner could choose to drown a child born out of enslaved women "the way we drown kittens"
American women can only stay with their babies for 6 weeks before they must return to work. This policy was lobbied by Nestle so that American women are forced to buy formula and don't rely on their own breast milk to feed their babies. The American government works for corporations, not their people & until this system dismantles, people aren't going to have babies. This is just common sense.
Adults tend to lose the “magic” of life because they fail to realize it was created by the ppl around them when they were younger. Happiness & Joy are things you have to take control of & create, especially in a capitalist society, especially if you’re an oppressed class
@capstellium@Snakesan I've read that middle eastern cultures have a word "zankha" to describe this sort of smell on chicken, eggs, poorly washed dishes. I'm white and now I just go around trying to identify it without having a good frame of reference, do you think that's what you're experiencing??
