INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE: NIGERIA REQUIRES MORE THAN THE END OF CONFLICT

As the world observes the International Day of Peace, Nigeria must acknowledge a difficult truth: enduring peace cannot be achieved while citizens continue to face insecurity, hunger, poverty, and despair.

Peace means more than the absence of violence. It exists when farmers can travel safely to and from their fields, children can attend school without the threat of abduction, families can afford adequate food, and young people can envision a future in their own country.

For this reason, peace must be grounded in effective governance. Governments must safeguard lives, ensure justice, combat corruption, invest in education and healthcare, expand productive opportunities, and manage national resources responsibly.

We cannot continue addressing only the visible effects of insecurity while neglecting the circumstances that generate desperation and instability.

Every naira misused represents a lost opportunity to strengthen peace. Every citizen left without support reflects a crisis overlooked. Every injustice committed erodes the foundations of peace.

Nigeria possesses the resources necessary to become a secure, peaceful, and prosperous nation. What is required is leadership, accountability, and the political will to place the Nigerian people at the centre of governance.

On this International Day of Peace, let us pledge to build a Nigeria in which justice is upheld, lives are protected, opportunities are expanded, and every citizen can live with dignity and hope.

Responsible governance is the foundation of peace.

My attention has been drawn to a fake letter circulating on social media, purportedly written by me to His Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, concerning political and financial matters in Anambra State.

This document is entirely false, malicious, and a fabrication by mischievous elements aimed at misleading the public. Furthermore, the signature appended to the letter is completely forged. 

I urge the public and media to disregard this spurious publication. My focus remains steadfastly on issues of national development, accountability, and building a better future for our people - never on cheap fabrications. -PO

There is nothing you go through in life that many people have not survived.

And I will tell you your problem.

Your problem is ACCEPTANCE... You feel suicide is an escape route when all you need is to take accountability and accept your mistakes... And embrace what is happening now as the consequences.

E easy for person when don see money before to see again ooo. Wetin dey hold people back na that acceptance. They are still blaming somebody.

If you don't heal yourself, how do you want to get clarity to function?

NOBODY can hold you back... That push is in your hands...

Acceptance is the beginning of self-reconciliation and life-reconciliation.

Acceptance ends the argument with the past. That is when responsibility, forgiveness, closure, and rebuilding can begin.

Nobody understands death more than those who are 1 leg in and 1 leg out.

People who hang themselves... Why do they struggle before they give up? Because during that process, death will torment you to the point that you will try to escape it but no U-turn.

Someone who jumps into a lagoon dont just fold his arms and drown peacefully... They struggle, they realize... Then they die.

Life is an adventure, let death come for you when it's your time.

Until then, go head to head with life.

If I could go back to when I was maybe 25 or 30... This is the advice I'd give myself because I see the leaks in my world today and hope someone learns from it.

1. STAY.

Stay when nobody is clapping.

Stay when the idea stops being sexy.

Stay during boring operational years.

Stay long enough to develop managers.

Stay long enough to build systems.

Stay long enough for compound effects to appear.

And when something truly is dead:

end it completely.

Don’t keep dead projects on emotional life support.

2. Don't be like me... I divided my money, attention, emotional energy, time, and leadership across too many futures... and none of them received enough concentrated force for long enough.

Five promising things can leave you poorer than one or two boring things that compound for ten years.

You might be a man with great ideas and crazy ambitions but:

Let ONE become the main mission. It gets the overwhelming majority of your serious building energy.

ONE may remain secondary only if it is cheap to maintain and doesn’t compete with the first.

Everything else gets one of four words: PAUSE, DELEGATE, SELL, or END.

Choosing one does not mean the others were stupid... It means you finally understand opportunity cost.

Many of you who are just like me do not need another beginning... You need a completion.

Those who know me too well or have worked with me will tell you one truth: “If a project stresses SPIRIT, that project is RIP... It doesn't take him time to raze down the structure and vanish.”

Again, NEVER be like me... You need the stress or you might never amount to anything.

And another important thing, have people in your life who understand you deeply and help you understand that life is not about Jump & Jump but instead it is more about Build, Energy & Patience.

I have the best minds working with me, Yomi, Kale, etc... These people are demonically brilliant... But I can tell you today that I wish they were more brutal with me and took advantage of the grip they have on me rather than focusing on protecting the relationship between us.

I love and appreciate them regardless.

In the last few months, my STRATEGIC PROJECT MANAGEMENT supervisor Sir Jace Subramoney changed my life in ways he might never know.

In him, I saw someone who believed in me and was ready to k!ll me if I ever doubt myself.

Both him and his course made me realize how many years, time, and energy I have wasted.

Build a process another human can execute without calling you... Create something that survives a month without your personal energy.

That is the transition from visionary to builder.

Again, don't be like me, don't be tired of visibility... Put yourself out there and keep yourself out there no matter how much you think you have made.

I know better and I am better.

Today in London, I continued consultations centered on Nigeria's future with some shareholders.

Our conversations centered on economic partnerships, strengthening institutional frameworks, and unlocking potential locked within Nigeria's vibrant youth demographic.

A recurring theme in all my discussions was the urgent necessity of transforming Nigeria from a consumer economy into a productive economy. This structural shift relies entirely on intentional investments in human capital—specifically health, education, and enterprise. We must forge a society where merit, integrity, and competence are celebrated and rewarded, leaving behind the era of nepotism and compromise.

While our current challenges are profound, they pale in comparison to the boundless resilience and determination of our people.

A New Nigeria Across Borders: My Visit to Italy

As part of my ongoing visits to several countries in continuation of my consultations, meetings, and constructive exchanges of ideas on national rebirth, I arrived in Italy this morning.

I had the privilege of engaging with key stakeholders and leaders. We held fruitful discussions on economic collaboration, institutional development, and matters critical to Nigeria’s progress, with a particular focus on the immense potential of our vast youthful population.

During these various meetings, I reiterated our core conviction to move Nigeria from consumption to production through sustained investments in education, healthcare, and enterprise development. We must build a functional society where young people are given genuine opportunities to prosper. A nation that values its talent must reward competence, character, and integrity over criminality, connections, and nepotism.

Though our national obstacles are immense, the collective capacity and resilience of our people are infinitely greater.

Leaving Italy tonight, I remain encouraged by the ideas shared and the collective determination of both the international community and our citizens everywhere to see Nigeria work for everyone.
